Chapter Fourteen

            I stumbled back a bit, I needed to make sure Flo didn't know.. but I was honestly out of ideas on how. I didn't want her to spill.. but was it really that obvious?

I knocked into the tree behind me and put my hand to the spot I had hit.

"Well?" Flo asked, obviously getting impatient.

"You're screwed.." Haunter concluded, looking back at Flo with empty eyes. Flo turned to Haunter.

"You just said something didn't you?" Flo asked, stepping closer to Haunter.

What happened to careless, free-willed, and unobservant Flo? Can I have her back please?

I gulped and stared back at Flo, with the same empty eyes as Haunter, but I feel like they had a tint of fear.

"Let's get going.." I said to Haunter, I wanted to ditch my companions right there. I glanced at the sky so I could say something like, 'oh let's get to bed and talk in the morning!' Sadly we had lots of daylight left and I couldn't stall for the rest of the day.

"Autumn!" Flo snapped, knocking me out of my thoughts, I probably looked like an idiot right now. Wide eyes, terrified, forced frown looking shape for my mouth.

I didn't quite trust Flo yet.. I've only known her for what.. 5 days now? I wasn't ready to spill a secret that could add around a thousand pokedollars to my bounty.

My lord and savior was none other then Carson when he hollered, "Let's get going slowpokes."

"Oh right away, yes sir.. I'm coming." I responded a little too fast, slipping from Flo and speed walking back over to the path we were taking.

"No! Wait." Flo tried getting me to come back but I pretended I couldn't hear her, so we continued walking through the forest, I was ready to ditch these people.. follow my mission with no setbacks, but something in my gut stopped me.

We continued through the forest with Flo shooting some looks at me, I tried my best not to make any eye contact.

Honestly though, was my ability to talk to Pokemon really so obvious or was Flo just a spy in disguise.

I turned around to see Flo staring at me. Glaring daggers, I just turned away and continued walking.

"We arrived.. let's get a room in the Pokemon center." Carson stated dully, he kept walking ahead into the next town.

I was relieved, "I'm going to explore, see you later at the Pokemon center." I called to my companions.. well.. not really anymore. I ran off until I heard footsteps behind me.

"Autumn! Tell me!" Flo hollered, running up behind me.

I ran faster, I knew how much energy that girl had. Thinking quickly, I grabbed one of my pokeballs and tossed it up.

Banette appeared in front of me, but before I could do anything I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was definitely Flo.

"Autumn? What the heck!" She asked me, staring into my eyes.

"I wanted to Uh.. explore the town, duh." I responded, Banette just stood behind me, Haunter was at my side.

"I'm coming with!" Flo smiled, skipping ahead.

"Uh no, I'm ok alone." I tried convincing her to leave.

"Naw, I'm coming." She protested, staring back at me with a smirk.

"No, and why do you even want to come?"

"Yes, and why are you protesting?" Flo leaned in closer before a large smile formed on her face, "Let's go see the aquarium they have here!" She cheered, grabbing my wrist and running off.
