"So I have some news, I'm not sure if it's good or bad though" Sal cringed as I let him into my house.
"Go on" I winced
"So I was over at my sister's yesterday. Just going over the plans for getting down to Florida for the IJ cruise"
"And...."
"And my dear sister informed me that our mother could not longer make it. She having the foot surgery I was telling you about".
"That's your news, your mother is having her bunions fixed" I laughed and sat down on the couch.
"No exactly. Since the room is free, Zoe told Apple and now her and Bella are coming on the cruise" Sal blurted out as double speed and then took a long breath in.
"Oh"
I hadn't seen or heard from Apple since Christmas eve. Sal had told me that Bella had loved the gift and smiled when he mentioned hers, but I didn't really know for certain. They had apparently moved into a new apartment on the north shore.
"You okay buddy?"
"Yeah. I think so".
