Saki - Apollonia

"Hi, I'm Miguel, you must be Appollonia"

"You have an accent?" I smiled and mentally kicked myself. Was that really the first thing I was going to say to his god like man.

"Yes, I'm from Venezuela" he chuckled as we both took our seats at the table.

"Nice, I've never been".

We both quickly fell silent. As I looked down and ran my fingers over the chopsticks I could feel him looking at me. Nervously I looked up and found him smiling.

"Kate said you would be shy. Is this your first blind date?" He continued to smile warmly.

I nodded and smiled through tight lips.

"Well I hope I don't disappoint" he added.

"No, I mean, come on" I scoffed in amusement.

"That reassuring. So Appollonia, how about we get drunk?"

Once the waitress had come to take our order of beers and Saki (Japanese rice wine) and enough sushi to feed a family, the conversation began to pick up.

"How was I suppose to know De Niro doesn't wear underwear" Miguel chuckled and popped another California roll in his mouth.

The Saki had taken it's full effect now as I snorted in my laughter.

"Apollonia, all we have done is talk about me. Come on, drink another shot of Saki and tell me at least one thing about yourself".

"Well I'm a writer. I use to work on SNL but that went South quickly, but my old boss there brought me on as a writer for his new show, Brooklyn nine nine. It's way better, but the travelling back and fourth to LA is a pain, especially with Bella".

"Bella? You have a child?" He smiled.

"God no, she's my niece. I'm her last living relative so I look after her. She's a complete pain, but I love her" i shrugged.

"Well I'm sorry to hear about your loss, but I bet you play the role of mom beautifully".

The way he said beautifully, in his thick latin accent sent a complete shiver down my spine. The entire meal he had stared warmly into my eyes, his green ones never leaving mine as he showed interest and enthusiasm for the littlest thing I'd said. Feeling a warm blush build up in my cheeks I quickly carried on talking.

"That's very kind of you. And we do okay, we have this apartment over on Staten Island. It's not the greatest but I think we've both come to love the place. She's made loads of friends and their mom's are super sweet".

"Yeah Kate mentioned you lived over there. I did some work there last summer, it's definetly different from the city" he winked.

"Yeah, so out of interest. What else did Kate mention?"

"Ahh, well she said I had to met you because you were smoking hot, but stuck trying to make a new start after your ex"

"Wow, think I'll be having words with Miss Kate tomorrow" I cringed and knocked back another shot of Saki.

"Would you like to talk about him? Your ex"

"Kate thinks I'm mad, but we are still friends, or at least trying to be. He and Bella were really close so I have to be careful. It's weird at the minute though, he like really sick, the doctors don't know why yet so I've... he's currently staying at mine until he's better. God, I bet you're looking for the closest exit now" I laughed and flopped my head into my hands.

"No, I'm afraid you will have to try harder than that if you want to scare me off. Honestly, I think what you are doing, opening your home back up to him in a time of need, it's very noble".

"That's one word for it. Despite what Kate thinks though, I'm not going back to him. We were good together, he was like my best friend before we started dating, but too much has happened".

Miguel must of sensed how uncomfortable I had become. Not only did I spend most of my day woeryingnabout Q or just generally thinking about him, but now I was talking about him on a date. Jesus Christ.

As I continued to mentally torture myself, Miguel suddenly reached out his hand and took hold of him. His large thumb gently running across my knuckles. Swallowing hard, I looked up at him and found his still smiling, just as warm and charming as before.

Oh boy was I in trouble...

So I have a complete obsession with the actor edgar ramirez at the minute, wanted to add a new character to the story as well. Let me know what you guys think of this twist, but don't worry, it's not the end of Apple and Q ;)
