October 2017
Brian had been in our lives for just over two months. I was also still dating Colin, which as you can probably guess, Brian hated. Bella and I had finally found our feet though and our house had started to feel like a home. After my first pay check from SNL I had argued with Brian to let me pay him back, he had none of it though. The following month I finally began to feel more financially stable.
It was now the day before Halloween. I was sat with Bella in my kitchen, looking through Amazon to try and find her the perfect costume. Zoe had agreed to take the girls trick or treating and then keep Bella for the night. Meanwhile I was going out into the city with Q, Murr, Sal and a few other from SNL.
"I bring gifts" Q announces as he lets himself into my apartment with the key I had given him a few weeks back.
In his hand were two very large pumpkins and a shopping bag.
"Pumpkins" Bella giggled excitedly and ran over to him.
"You ever carved one before?" He asked her
Bella just shook her head and bite her bottom lip as she followed him into the kitchen.
Placing the two pumpkins on the table he finally turned to me with a huge cheeky smile. "I got the costumes sorted too".
Bella was now jumping up and down at the side of him. "let me see, let me see" she begged.
Smiling, Brian pulled out a kids witch costume. Bella was so happy and quickly opened the packaging.
"And for you" Brian winked and pulled out another costume.
"Jesus Q" I choked as I looked at the marketing image of a woman dressed in a very slutty catwoman outfit. "I can't wear this".
"Why not, I'm bat man. You can be my cat woman" he laughed whilst wiggling his eyebrows.
"I have a"
"Yeah boyfriend, I know" he interrupted, rolling his eyes.
We spent the rest of the evening carving pumpkins and eatting take out. Brian shot off not long after Bella had gone to bed, and in boredom I decided to get an earlier night.
The next morning I was back at work. My ideas for this week's shownhadnf been picked up, so Jorma had me helping him with some of his work.
"You all sad and lonely since lover boy is away" Jorma teased me.
"No, he can go have his fun at his friend bachelor party. I've got plans tonight anyways. I wish you could join us"
"Joys of fatherhood can be a killer on your social life" he shrugged.
Jorma had allowed me to take a half day. So after lunch I was heading back to Staten Island. I had messaged Q earlier on to double check our plans for the evening, and finally, three hours later he messaged back.
We'll swing by in the taxi at 8. Q
There wasn't the usual kiss at the end. I knew he was being off with me from last night, but I had thought he'd be over it by now. Deciding not to respond I continued my journey home. Back in my apartment and after a quick nap and some food, I opened a bottle of wine and pulled out the costume Q had brought me.
"Fucking hell" I groaned to myself.
It was basically a black leather catsuit. Unforgivingly tight and accompanied with a black cat eye mask. After a quick shower, I straightening my hair and finished off my third glass of wine before squeezing into the suit.
