My next class was an engineering course. I was minoring in architectural design, so I thought'd it'd be useful.
Shay was already seated inside, so I took the seat to his left.
"Hey," he said.
"Hi," I answered.
Out teacher was an older woman, probably in her forties or fifties.
"Hello class, my name is Carissa Dandridge, but you may call me Carissa. Please go around and tell me your names," she said.
She was very to the point. I liked it.
"I'm Miguel," said a handsome boy in front of me.
"I'm Lydian," and the rest of the class followed suit.
"Shay Riley."
"Sasha."
"Thomas," said the guy on the other side of me.
"Excellent. Today we will be discussing buildings. What buildings, you might ask. Well, name a spectacular work of art that stands in a city," she said, pointing to Miguel.
"The Louvre," he said.
She nodded. "Good example. Another," she pointed to me.
"Uh, the twin towers," It came out sounding more of a question than an answer.
"Ah ha, a blast from the past," she gave me a small smile.
"One more," she pointed to Lydian.
"The pyramids," she said much more confidently than me.
"Very good. Your assignment for this week is to write a research essay on a famous building. It can be still standing, or gone by now. It needs to be ten paged long, class dismissed." She said.
We all grabbed our things and shuffled out of the room.
"Hey Sasha," a voice called. I turned around to see Lydian.
"Hey," I said with a small smile.
"You're Leah's roommate, am I right?" she asked. She was really pretty. I loved her tattoos on her arm.
"Yeah, I am. Are you guys friends?" I asked her.
She nodded. "She texted me and asked if I would invite you over for lunch at my apartment today," she explained.
My phone beeped.
Leah <333
Did Lydian invite you over???
"That was her, I'd love to come," I
smiled.
"Sweet, come on over whenever. I live in that building across from the Admin Building," Lydian said as walked off.
I smiled. I was really lucky to have Leah.
I walked back to our dorm to put my things away.
As I opened the door to the main lobby, I ran into Shay. Literally.
"We really need to stop meeting like this," he laughed.
"Yeah, really," I said, "Sorry about that. I'll see you around."
I started walking again.
"Sash," he called.
I turned around.
"Yes?"
He looked at his feet then have me a half smile. "Never mind. It was nothing," he lied. "See you," he called out and left.
That was odd.
Shay POV
I almost freaking told her. I can't believe I just did that. She must think I'm psychotic or something now.
I can't even believe she's here. Out of a the colleges for her to pick, it had to be mine.
And she's rooming with Leah, which is just great. Note my sarcasm.
That dream had me messed up for weeks. I really should tell someone about it. I had thought about talking Garret, but now that he's into her, or so it seems, that would be weird.
I really like Leah, don't get me wrong, but there's this, what's the word, quality, that Sasha has. I think there's a song about that, something about having that one thing. Well, she has that one thing.
And it freaking intoxicates me.
Sasha POV
*Knock knock knock*
I waited patiently in the hallway outsides Lydian's apartment.
I heard some locks sliding and clicking around and then Leah's smiling face greeted mine.
"Hey! C'mon in, let me introduce you to my friends," she said excitedly.
I took a seat on a white leather armchair. The group in front of me was quite comical.
There was Lydian with her tattoos, there was a black girl with mile long braids, and a blonde cheerleader stereotype looking girl, and then Leah.
"You know Lydian already," she said, "and this is Kat," she gestured to Braids, "and this is London."
I gave a small wave. "Guys, this is Sasha. She's my new roommate, so please don't make her hate me by telling any stories," she said jokingly.
The door bell rang and Kat hopped up to get it.
She came back with some takeout boxes from Little Star.
"Who's hungry?"
