"So. I've been meaning to talk to you about something. Or someone rather," Garret said, sobering up our light and cheery mood.

I wiped my face with my napkin. "Okay. Shoot," I said.

He took a breath. "A few months ago, I had a girlfriend. Her name was Rachel, and we were on the marriage track. I loved her so, so much. I had a best friend too. His name was Smith. Smith and Rachel are engaged to be married as of four weeks ago," he said sadly.

My eyes widened. "Oh my word. That's awful," I said.

He laughed, but it was forced. "I know. I don't speak with either of them. The only reason I know is because my brother got invited to the wedding. It's next summer," he said bitterly.

"Oh Garret. That sucks."

"Yeah, when Gavin told me I was in shock. I knew they were together, she had been cheating on me with him, but marriage?" he sighed.

"Anyways. Enough about my sob story. How was Leah?" He asked.

"Rough. She doesn't think Shay will take her back," I said sadly.

Garret POV

"He's not going too either," I said without thinking.

"What?" she said.

I sighed. "Shay doesn't want her back. I talked with him this morning, and he says one chance is all she got, and she blew it," I told her. Her blue eyes filled with sadness.

"That's terrible. I understand where he's coming from though. I just hate that for them," she said.

"How do you and Shay know each other?" I asked. I had heard Shay's side of all this, and now I wanted hers.

"We went to high school together. He was that guy in school that all the girls were in love with, but not me. He had my friends wrapped around his finger. We had this connection though, Garret. It was insane. The day before he left, he spilled his coffee all over me, so he let my use his button down shirt to cover it up. It smelled really good," Sasha said. She was in her own little world right now. It was cute. She continued, "And we hung out that night. He told me his middle name-"

"He did? He won't tell anybody!" I interrupted.

She giggled but kept on talking. "That night I had the craziest dream. You can't tell him Garret. Pinky promise me you won't," she pleaded.

"Pinky promise," I said, grabbing her pinky in mine.

She took a deep breath. "Okay, it went like this..."

I tried to keep my excitement at bay when she was done. Somehow, someway, they had had the same dream. I was freaking out.

"So, uh, you fell in love with someone on a date you've never had?" I squeaked.

She put her head in her hands. "I don't know if it was love, but it was sure as hell something."
