Sasha POV

"Have you kissed him yet?" Kiki asked nosily.

I almost choked on my salad.

"Kee!" Caroline scolded but she too was smiling.

"No," I said with more disappointment than I meant.

"I feel like it'll be soon. I just have a hunch," Grace said confidently.

"Sure you do, Gracie, sure you do," Nichole chuckled.

She had recently been seeing this guy Brenton, and she seemed to really like him.

"If I keep up with this champagne, your hunch might be proven a fact," I joked.

I wasn't big on drinking, like at all, but it was my best friends wedding. I had to have a little champagne. I glanced down to the other end of the table to see Shay drinking some too so I didn't feel too guilty.

I had already consumed two glasses and was working slowly on my third.

"How's New York?" Gabriel asked.

"Insane. How's California?" I asked all of them.

All their answers were generic so I kind of zoned out.

I caught myself looking at Shay again. I was picturing him without his shirt. Oh my, maybe I need to stop with the alcohol.

"Well?" Grace said expectantly.

"I'm sorry, what were you saying?" I asked them.

Kiki and Carolina shared a look.

"What?" I asked again.

"Oh nothing," Nichole said, taking a slow drink of her water.

"You guys," I whined, "Tell me."

Gabriel shook her head. "Why don't you go dance?" she said, pointing to the bottom floor of the restaurant.

This was the coolest place ever. The restaurant was on the top floor, but there was a giant square cut out of the floor lined with glass railing. If you stood and looked over the railing, you could see the ballroom dance floor where tons of people were slow dancing.

"With who?" I argued.

"Me, if that's okay with you," Shay said.

I looked up at him. Just to appease my friends, I took his hand as we walked away.

I'm pretty sure I heard Nichole choke on her food, Carolina squeal, and the rest of them gasp.

That's right, this is new Sasha. Prepare to be amazed, I thought to myself smugly.

Shay looked a little taken aback by our joined hands but he didn't argue.

He put his hand on my hip and the other in the air, waiting for my me to follow suit.

We began spinning slowly in circles. It was peaceful.

It was unfortunate that I found myself thinking of Garret the whole time.

I needed to call him when we got back to the hotel. I made a mental note to do just that.

"What are you thinking about?" Shay asked me quietly.

"Garret," I whispered.

"You're kidding, right? You're out here dancing with me, and you're thinking of Garret?" he chuckled.

"Sorry, I just haven't talked to him in a while," I defended.

"You saw him yesterday," Shay replied.
