Shay POV

"So," I cleared my throat. I couldn't let the nerves get to me. "Remember that dream?"

She laughed. "How could I forget?"

"Well, in that dream, you told me some things about your parents," I said cautiously.

Sasha tended to clam up whenever I brought them up. Not this time though.

"Yes, I did," my beautiful girl said quietly.

I placed my hand over hers on her lap.

"Do you remember telling me that they were headed to a restaurant when the accident happened? And how you've never gotten to go there?"

Sasha POV

"Do you remember telling me that they were headed to a restaurant when the accident happened? And how you've never gotten to go there?" He asked.

Oh God.

He was taking me to The Rain.

I remember telling him about it in the dream.

"It was a car crash," I whispered, "They were coming to pick me up from Kiki's house. They were so excited because they had been wanting to take me to this new restaurant downtown, The Rain, but they never made it there."

The thought almost brought tears to my eyes.

That's why he was acting so weird, I thought to myself.

"Yes."

"I hope you don't hate me for this, but that's where I planned on taking you tonight," he said carefully.

"You know, I read one time that the only way to overcome a fear of being somewhere or doing something was to associate good memories with it," I said softly, "So you can be my good memory."

He squeezed my hand.

We pulled into the parking lot. He parked his car and came to open my door for me.

"Thanks," I said. My voice was a little wobbly. I was scared. This place screamed bad idea, but at the same time, I couldn't help but feel that something good could come out of tonight.

I took his arm as we entered the classy building.

"Name?" The young hostess said.

"Riley," Shay answered politely.

My eyes wandered the walls. This place was spectacular.

"Right this way, Mr. and Mrs. Riley," the hostess said.

Shay's face turned a slight shade of pink. I smiled.

I really, really liked the sound of that.

I pushed the crazy thoughts out of my head and made my way to our table.

"Someone will be by soon to take your order. Enjoy your evening," She said with a smile.

"Thank you," I said with a grin.

I looked at my menu. My eyes almost popped out of my head.

This place wasn't cheap.

"Shay-"

"Nope. I've got it covered. Don't worry about it," he replied sweetly.

"I love you."

"You better," he joked.

I laughed.

See? I could have fun if I wanted too. I could let loose.

We both ended up getting steak, which was absolutely delicious.

Shay was still acting a bit weird during the whole meal, but I disregarded it.

After the waiter cleared our table, he reached across the table and grabbed my hand.

"So I've been talking with Jay these past few days," he said.

I nodded.

"And he tells me that you are the best thing that has ever happened to him, besides Angie and Marley of course. I had to agree with him. You are the single most amazing thing that has ever happened to me, Sash."

Where was he going with this? I was used to the cute little compliments, but not speeches.

"I remember feeling so confused when you showed up at Burke that day. I was pissed because I was dating Leah and knew I couldn't have you right away, but I was also ecstatic because I knew that even if I couldn't have you romantically, you were still a part of my life," he said. I had tears in my eyes.

"Once you took my to California, I was a dead man walking. You had me upside down, crazy in love, Sasha. Hell, I still am. The same day we got back to New York, I headed down to the jeweler. As I looks through the necklaces and bracelets, though to myself, 'There is nothing in here that shows how much I love her,'" he said.

I felt a tear roll down my face. He continued.

"Then it hit me. I was like, 'What's better than a necklace or bracelet? A ring!' So that's what I bought. I bought a big silver ring with a big shiny diamond right in the center."

He stood up and walked over to my side of the table. As he descended onto one knee, I gasped.

"Shay," I breathed.

He pulled out a velvet box.

"Sasha Marie Jacobs, would you do me the immense honor of becoming Mrs. Shay Riley?" he asked with a huge smile.

I jumped up and pulled him to his feet. I threw my arms around his neck.

"I love you," I said through my tears.

"Is that a yes?"

"That's an oh hell yes," I replied.

He kissed me and slipped the glittery band around my finger.

The waiter interrupted our moment.

"Excuse me, but that woman over there has just ordered this for you," he said, placing a piece of cake on our table. "Sorry for the interruption, Mr. and Mrs. Riley," he said and scurried off.

I smiled to myself because this time, I didn't need to correct him.
