****Five years later****
"Shay? Have you seen Ariel's blankie? I'm trying to put her to sleep and she needs it," I called down the hall.
I had our two year old daughter, Ariel, on my hip. She was stubbornly refusing a nap.
"Here it is," my husband of four years replied.
I smiled at the memory.
Our wedding theme had been Starry Nights.
Perfect, right?
After I graduated, we moved back to Memphis. I got a job at a design firm and Shay was an up-and-coming contractor.
We bought this house about three years ago and had Ariel shortly afterwards.
He walked out of the living room carrying her blanket.
"Thanks," I said gratefully.
I walked our baby over to her crib.
As I placed her inside, I couldn't help but smile at her.
"I love you, sweet girl," I whispered.
I strode out of the room soundlessly.
Shay was waiting for me on the other side.
He kissed me softly.
"I love you. And our baby," he said happily.
Ever since we had gotten engaged, he had made it very apparent that having lots of kids was important to him.
"Me too," I said quietly, not wanting to wake our child.
He took my hand and led me into our room. We closed the door behind us, not wanting to wake Ari.
**three months after that**
Shay POV
Sasha hadn't been feeling well lately, and that scared me a little.
It had been going on for the past few weeks. All she would do was come home after work and go lie down.
"Hey Sash?"
"Yeah?" she said. It was obvious she wasn't feeling great.
"Are you feeling, uh, okay? Or is it just, you know, that particular time..." I trailed off.
She laughed at me.
She stood up and took my hands.
"No, it's not that. I've actually been keeping a small secret," she said mischievously.
"I'm pregnant again!"
