Shay POV
Sasha Jacobs:
We leave on the second. -SJ
I grinned. December second was only three days away, so I needed to find something to wear.
"Do you own a suit?" I asked Garret who was sitting across from me, typing furiously on his laptop.
"Yes, why?"
"I'm going to a wedding. Can I borrow it?"
He laughed.
"What's so funny?" I asked.
"You're about three inches taller than me. You can't wear my suit," he said with a "duh" look on his face.
"I wear your shirts all the time!" I said just to spite him. He hates when I take his stuff.
"Shay," he said with a warning tone, "If I find out that you are serious, I will kill you."
If was my turn to laugh. "Yeah, whatever. Will you help me find one then?" I asked.
"Dude, no. I'm not going shopping with you," he said.
"C'mon Gar-"
"Wait. I know who's your size. Let me make a couple calls and I'll see what I can do," he said.
"Really? Thanks," I replied. That was easy.
He picked up his phone and tapped at the screen.
"Hello? No, I'm not looking for Gavin, Nathan. I need a favor."
I glanced up at him. He was talking to his brother in law.
"A suit. Yes, like a dress suit," he said with exasperation.
"Nathan. Work with me here. My roommate needs it for a wedding," he explained.
"Yes. No, hell no. I'll be there in ten minutes. Yes. Okay, bye."
He set his phone down and tossed me my car keys.
"Here's the address to their apartment," he said, writing it down on a napkin for me.
"You want me to go to my professors house, not to mention your brothers house, and take one of his husbands suits? Are you insane?" I asked.
"No, I'm saving your weekend with Sasha. You're welcome," he said.
I would've been ticked at his sarcasm, but how did he know I was going with Sasha? All I told him was that I was going to a wedding.
"How'd you know I was going with Sasha?" I asked suspiciously.
"She called me earlier and asked if I could go, and I can't, so I told her to ask you instead," he said matter-of-factly.
"Oh. Okay then. I'll be back later," I said and stepped out of the dorm.
~
"I am NOT wearing that. No," I growled at Gavin.
"Shay! Oh my word. You're being so difficult," he scolded.
Okay, you would be being difficult too if you were wearing a bright pink sport coat and skinny jeans.
"Here," Nathan said, handing me a dark blue button down, tawny sport coat, and a pair of dark wash jeans.
Ladies, I know what you're thinking, jeans at a wedding? Well, don't worry, I texted Nolan and he said it wasn't very formal, so jeans were okay.
"This isn't hideous," I complimented.
Nathan rolled his eyes.
"You look good. I expect them back clean," he said to me.
"Got it," I said with a salute. Gavin let out a little laugh.
I changed back into my jeans and t-shirt.
"Thanks you two," I said as I left.
I called Sasha on the way back to the dorms.
"Hello?"
"I found a suit to wear. Nolan said I could wear jeans," I said without saying hello.
She didn't miss a beat. "That's great! What color is your shirt? I assume you aren't wearing a tie."
"You assume correctly, although I will if you want me too. My shirt is dark blue. Why do you ask?"
"Because I would like us to match if not correspond at the least," she said with a "duh" tone.
"My dress is dark blueish green, so we should be okay."
"Great. I'll be at your dorm in," I checked my car's clock, "about seven minutes with my things, and we can go from there. Okay?" I said.
"Sounds good. See you," she said and hung up.
I sighed. She was so perfect without even trying. When Garret said I loved her, I knew he was right. I couldn't not love her, I mean she's pretty damn amazing. This was my chance.
This was my buzzer beating shot.
This was my diving catch.
This was it.
If I screwed this up, I was done.

Sasha POV
I ended the call with Shay and picked my dress out of our closet.
My mind went back to that conversation with Garret.
"So, uh, you fell in love with someone on a date you've never had?" He said.
I put my head in my hands. "I don't know if it was love, but it was sure as hell something."
Did I love Shay? Maybe.
Could I love Shay for certain someday? Definitely.
