Fast forward four months, and here I was, standing with Leah in our dorm room. We were dancing and squealing like nobodies business.
"Are you going to go?" She asked
happily.
"I would think so," I answered. I reread the piece of paper for the fifth time.
You are cordially invited to the joining of families:
Gabriel Jones & Nolan Sanders
Save The Date 12/5/14
I hadn't been asked as a bridesmaid, Nolan's sister Adeline would be her only one and Baytes would be Nolan's.
Since it was over Christmas break, I could fly up there with no trouble.
"It says to bring a date," Leah said. She looked at me with a frown.
"Assuming you'd ask me to go, I can't. I'm at my mothers house in Alabama. Garret or Shay would go with you though," she said.
"Hahaha, that's too bad. I'll call Garret today and ask him. If I went with Shay, would you care?" I asked her.
"Nope. We've been over this before Sash. You and him are totally fine with me. I promise," she said with a smile.
"Okay. Let's go dress shopping," I said, knowing that would cheer her up.

"I'm sorry Sasha, I can't! I promised Gavin and Nathan I would spend Christmas break with them this year, and we only get three weeks off. You should ask Shay," he said and then hung up.
"What if I don't want to ask Shay?" I snapped but he was already gone.
I let out a frustrated sigh. I was sitting at one of the tables outside Little Star.
"Ask me what?" Shay asked as he pulled out the chair across from me and say down.
My face went red. "Nothing." I lied. I would love to take Shay, I really would, but I was so afraid it would be awkward.
"Bullshit," he called my bluff.
"Do you remember Baytes Jones from high school?"
"What kind of question is that?"
"Answer me."
"Yes, I do."
"His twin sister, Gabriel, who is also one of my best friends is getting married soon," I said.
"So?"
"I need a date. Will you come with me?"
"I thought you said you'd never make a move on anyone," he smirked.
I was confused for a moment, but then I remembered What Are The Odds. He told me I should ask Garret out, and I said I'd never make a move on anyone. That son of a-
"Well? Are you making a move on me Sasha?" he interrupted my thoughts.
"No. I'm asking a favor," I retorted.
"I never thought I'd see the day," he said sarcastically.
That's it. I'm done.
I pushed my chair back and walked off.
"Sash! Sasha, I'm kidding," he said pleadingly, "C'mon baby,"
I stopped cold. "I am not your baby," I said forcefully. My eyes flew open.
That phrase. I knew it from somewhere. I knew he did too by the way his eyebrows shot up into his hairline.
"Sash, get in the car. Please," he called out the window.
"I don't need a ride, I'm getting exercise. Not all of us are super star athletes!" I yelled back and he threw back his head and laughed.
"C'mon baby, get in," he drawled. That made me stop walking. I put my hand on my hip and faced him.
"I am NOT your baby, and I am NOT getting into that car," I said.
The dream. It was from the dream.
"We can talk about this tomorrow. If you want. I leave on Friday. In two days. Okay, uh, bye."
I awkwardly walked away.
"Hey! Sasha!" He called after me, but I kept walking.
Shay POV
I knew that line. It was from the dream.
"We can talk about this tomorrow. If you want. I leave on Friday. In two days. Okay, uh, bye," she said awkwardly.
"Hey! Sasha!" I called after her, but she kept walking.
Why did I have to mess everything up? She was going to give me a chance to be in her life, and I basically just turned it down.
I needed to make this up to her. Fast.
As I drove down the road towards the city, I remembered my mother and sisters advice.
They used to tell me that if I got into trouble with a girl, that an apology was the first step, flowers were the second.
I pulled into the outdoors market and walked in.
I made my way over to the flower section and picked out some daisies that I thought she'd like.
Sasha POV
I closed my door behind me and leaned up against it. I knew I shouldn't have asked him.
"You okay?" Leah asked.
"Yes. Shay was being rude, and I've had a long day," I mumbled.
"Try your dress on again, that'll cheer you up," she said.
Earlier, we had gone and picked out the dress I'd be wearing to the wedding.
It was thick, expensive, blueish green fabric with a crew neck top. I loved it.
"Nice try," I groaned.
"Well, I'm meeting up with London in a few minutes. Want to come?" she asked me.
"No, I'm good. I'll order in some food tonight," I said, "But thanks for the invitation."
"No problem! See you later," she said as she shut the door.
I laid on my bed, enjoying the silence. My quiet was short lived by someone knocking on our door.
I rolled off my bed and went to open it.
There wasn't anyone there.
I stepped out into the hall to see if they had walked off, and my foot made contact with what felt like a leaf.
Daisies?
I bent down to retrieve the flowers and note.
Sorry about earlier. I'll go if you still want me too xx
I felt a smile creep onto my face.
I went back inside and put my flowers in the first cup I found, which just so happened to be a red solo cup, but whatever works.
I pulled out my phone and sent a quick text.
