Of course, nightmares came for Kaytrin like they do for every demigod. Kaytrin dreamed that she was back at Camp Halfblood. She saw Percy and Annabeth sneaking off to the docks to have a snack, but then the scene changed. It was totally dark, and she heard a bloodcurdling scream.
"No, no... no no no no no. Please! Help me!" A voice said. The voice sounded sort of familiar.
A second, deeper and older voice replied, "This must happen. You were chosen by the Fates to experience terrible pain. The Fates have woven your life story. They have taken an interest in you."
"Why me?" The first voice sobbed.
"You are special. Not quite a demigod. You..."
The voice faded away as Kaytrin slowly woke up. Sam was shaking her, and Kaytrin was covered in sweat.
"Wha- what?" Kaytrin asked.
"You were having a nightmare."
"I know that! You shouldn't have woken me up! I was seeing something important. At least, I think it was important."
"Doesn't matter we have ten minutes until it is time to leave anyway. Come on, get up, Kay."
Kaytrin scowled at the nickname. "Fine."
