Sam was flying ahead of them when her Pegasus abruptly dipped downwards, pulling Sam into a deep dive.

"Woah!" She screamed. "Stop! Slow down!"

Kaytrin and London dove after her, following her Pegasus down to the ground. They were in Southern Connecticut.

The three riders landed at a little cafe with barely any mortals around, which was good.

"Sam, what happened?" Kaytrin asked.

"My pegasus just started diving downward all of a sudden, and I couldn't stop him."

"I wonder why," a melodious voice said.

It was a mortal that was sitting nearby at the cafe. But she was the most beautiful person any of the three had seen.

"Uh, hi," London said awkwardly, and in obvious awe.

"Oh, I suppose you don't recognize me. I am Aphrodite. Come, sit down with me."

"Aphrodite. The real Aphrodite?!" London said.

"Yes, the real Aphrodite," she said as all three of them joined her at the tiny table. "I think I will make you three's lives interesting. You are the perfect story," she sighed, and then giggled, thinking about all the interesting scenarios she could do to make their lives complicated.

"Oh, you are still here?" She said when she came out of her thoughts. "You may leave now, I just wanted to be sure that I was right in the decision to enhance your love lives," she said, and disappeared into a poof of little red clouds shaped like hearts.

"What was that about?" Sam said.

"I don't know. Don't worry about it right now. We need to get to Camp Halfblood. Tyche has been away too long from her cornucopia," London said.
