Kaytrin felt a prickling on the back of her neck, like someone was trying to sneak up on her.
She whirled around, twisting her robotic arm to activate her spear.
Her spear was pointed at a boy with light brown hair and a mischievous look pressed permanently into his face.
"Connor?" She asked.
"Gah! Yes, okay, the arm actually works. Ok. Just testing," he said hurriedly.
"Connor? What are you up to?" Kaytrin said.
"Travis dared me to turn off your arm," he mumbled. "But you obviously have hyperactive senses, so nobody, not even a Hermes camper, can sneak up on you." He pouted sadly.
Kaytrin laughed. "No, I am just lucky. Well, my senses may be heightened just a little bit, thanks to Tyche. She accidentally improved my senses, probably."
"What? Oh, right, you were created, not born."
Word spreads fast at camp, she thought. But Kaytrin didn't really care anymore if everyone found out. She was done worrying about what others thought about her.
When she lived with her parents, none of the mortals really accepted her when she was acting like herself.
Yes, she was slightly ADHD, but she wasn't dyslexic, like most demigods. She was able to act more like a mortal than a lot of the campers at Camp Halfblood.
"Correct," Kaytrin said, confident with herself.
London then walked up to her side, and looked down at her.
Kaytrin realized just then that she had felt a little off without him next to her. His presence made her feel complete.
She gave London a big smile, standing up on her toes to kiss his cheek.
"Only a kiss on my cheek?" He teased her.
They had completely forgotten about Connor.
"I don't know if you deserve anything more. Plus you are too tall."
"That's it," London said. He grabbed Kaytrin and swung her over his shoulder. She shrieked then laughed really hard. She seemed unable to stop laughing. Her sounds of pure joy seemed to be contagious because Connor and London were starting to chuckle.
"Sorry, Connor, got to go," he said before jogging off towards Halfblood Hill and Thalia's tree.
