Chapter 30

Kaytrin walked into the campfire circle, scanning the crowd for London. She hadn't seen him all day.

She spotted him sitting with the Apollo cabin, and headed over to him.

She saw Sam going to her friends at the Nemesis cabin, and Chiron leading Matthew to the Demeter section.

She caught Sam glancing over at Matthew. Her face got a little bit red when she noticed that he was looking back at her.

Kaytrin smiled, and leaned into London. He was sitting at the edge of his group, so she could sit next to him because there wasn't anybody else in her cabin.

Kaytrin was happy that Sam was starting to like someone else, and was over London. Sam deserved to be happy. She may look a little bit intimidating with her red highlights and intense eyes, but she was vulnerable like everyone else. She needed someone to love.

Kaytrin felt London wrap his arms around her. She turned to look up at his eyes. His eyes were the most beautiful she had ever seen: a golden amber color, like honey.

She could feel London's fan girl group's eyes on her, so she did what she new they wouldn't like. She kissed him. She was telling them all that he was taken, hers only. She didn't care if everyone was watching. She loved London.

She slowly pulled away, grinning like a maniac.

"What?" London asked.

"Nothing," she answered, looking up happily at his handsome face.

London looked up, and noticed everyone watching them.

"Oh." His face turned red.

Kaytrin then turned her attention to Chiron, who was talking. She could tell that he knew that barely anyone was listening to him.

"... tomorrow is a free day. You will be able to do anything you want, any activity at all, as long is you stay inside the camp border. Goodnight everyone, lights out is in half an hour," Chiron said.

Leo had time to start working on her new arm all day tomorrow! She was truly happy and thankful that Leo was being so helpful.

London got up, and Kaytrin follow him.

"Did you hear about what Leo is planning for my mechanical arm?" She asked him.

"No, tell me all about it," he said.

"Well, I told him that it had to be able to function like a normal arm. He said that he can do that, but he insisted on some upgrades, like retractable claws and other hidden weapons."

"Really? Wow. When you get it attached you won't even have to carry a spear around any more. Your arm will be a portable weapon!"

"I know! Still, I'm worried that I may hurt someone by accident. I will have to be extremely careful," Kaytrin said worry lines appearing on her forehead.

"You will be fine," London said, kissing the lines away. "Let's go sit on the beach until lights out," he suggested.
