The rest of the day Kaytrin was with Leo, forming the plan for her new arm.
Leo wanted to make it out of celestial bronze, and be able to have spikes come out of the fingers like claws, and a rocket come out of her bicep.
Kaytrin argued that it had to be a functional arm, one that she could use for everyday purposes.
"But fighting monster is an everyday thing for demigods!" Leo protested.
She finally agreed that her arm could have a few weapons hidden inside the metal, but it had to mostly be able to function like a normal arm.
A few of the other Hephaestus campers came over to give ideas, and other people at camp came by to congratulate her on her succesful quest. They were sympathetic about her lost arm, but Kaytrin suspected that they were a little jealous because Leo insisted on telling each person how awesome her new, robotic arm would be.
She finally got a break from planning with Leo when the dinner bell rang. She gladly set down her pencil, and raced to the mess hall.
She sacrificed a part of her meal to Tyche, thanking her for her good luck.
She sat down at her table alone, and was glad to have some peace.
But it didn't last long.
The alarm bell rang, and everyone got up and raced to the top of Halfblood Hill.
A guy with blond hair and black glasses was racing up the hill, chased by a hoard of female demons that had mismatched legs and flaming hair. A satyr was leading him.
"Help!" The guy called.
Kaytrin then saw Sam racing down the hill toward him, slicing trough the demons with her knives one by one.
The last demon backed up awkwardly on her mismatched legs, holding her hands up like don't kill me!
Sam threw her knife at the demon's head, making it explode into monster dust.
Kaytrin made her way carefully down toward the boy, the satyr, and Sam.
"Sam, that was amazing!" Kaytrin praised her.
Sam turned to the new guy, wiping her black hair with red highlights out of her eyes.
"Are you okay?" She asked him.
"Yeah," he said, staring at her in amazement.
"Well," The satyr said. "We should find Chiron. I need to talk to him."
"I saw him at the top of the hill," Kaytrin said, and started heading back up.
She stumbled a little, but Sam was there to steady her.
"Thanks," she told Sam.
"What happened to your arm?" The new guy asked.
"I got in a fight with a monster. It's nothing."
"Nothing? You are missing an arm!"
"Doesn't matter. I am getting a new, better arm."
"A new arm?"
"You have a lot to learn about this camp. First things first, nothing is impossible, right Sam?"
"Right. Come on, Newbie. Time to meet Chiron," she told the new guy.
