Sam, Kaytrin, Chiron, the satyr, and the new guy met in the living room in the big house.
Sam was allowed to be at the meeting because she saved the new camper and insisted that Kaytrin was there too.
"So, let's start with the basics. What is your name?" Chiron asked the blond guy.
"Matthew Hunt."
Now that Kaytrin has time to study the new guy, she noticed that he had dark blue eyes, and a sythe sheathed at his hip.
"Where did you get that?" She ask him, pointing at the sythe.
"My dad lives on a farm, and when the first Empousi showed up, I used this sythe to kill it. But then more appeared, and I ran away. Greg," he jestured to the satyr, "found me and led me here."
Kaytrin turned to Chiron. "Isn't there a rule against claiming your child after thirteen?"
"The gods are supposed to guide their children here around their thirteenth birthday, and then claim them. But you are fourteen, and your mother just claimed you about a week ago. Gods don't always keep their promises," he answered.
"Oh."
"How old are you? You are obviously not thirteen," Chiron asked Matthew.
"Fifteen," he answered. "What is this thing about gods?"
"Do you know about the Greek gods?"
"Yeah, but that is just a myth."
"No, it's not. They are real. Nemesis is my mother. She is the Greek goddess of revenge," Sam interrupted.
"What— Who is my mother then?" Matthew asked.
"We don't know yet. You have to be claimed by your mother for us to be able to know. She should claim you sometime around—" Chiron said, but then was cut of by a glowing green symbol. A sythe hovered over Matthew's head.
"Well, that makes perfect sense Your mother is Demeter, the goddess of the harvest!" The satyr said. "You chose to fight with a sythe, and you are pretty good at using it. You probably have a green thumb too!"
"I can make any plant grow during any season, even winter," Matthew said.
"Well, now that that's settled, let's get down to the campfire," Chiron said.
