For the next hour, Kaytrin showed everybody her arm, while Leo explained what weapons he built into it.
"If she twists her arm like this, a spear unfolds! I know that Kaytrin fights with a spear, so that is why I added that little trick. And if she push this hidden button, a rocket launcher pops up. Oh, and this is the best part— flex your hand, Kaytrin! Ta-da, claws!"
Everyone oohed and aahed over Leo's mechanics, and Calypso came over to stand next to Leo for part of the time.
The lunch horn sounded, alerting everyone to what time it was.
"Well, time for lunch!" Leo announced like nobody had just heard the horn.
All the campers hiked up the hill towards the pavilion. On the way up London jogged up to her side, and then Annabeth and Percy joined them.
"Cool arm. I heard about all the weapons Leo put in that thing. Do you really have an actual laser in there?" Percy asked.
"What? No, of course not! I would never let Leo put something so dangerous in my new arm," Kaytrin replied.
"That annoying little liar, Clarisse. She lied to me! Annabeth, she lied!"
"Are you really surprised that she lied? And how could you believe that Kaytrin would have lasers on her arm?" Annabeth said, then sighed.
The group had reached the pavilion, so they went to their own tables, London's hand lingering on Kaytrin's for a moment longer.
"Good afternoon, Campers! Time to finish up the free day with whatever activities you want," Chiron said after they had gotten their food and sat down.
Everyone finished their food, and scrambled back down the hill to get to their activities first.
Kaytrin moves to the edge of the patio where she had a good view of her camp. Her camp. It was her home now. Kaytrin smiled at that thought.
She could see campers riding pegasi in the sky, and shooting at the archery range. Others were scaling the lava-spewing rockwall, or carving busts of their godly parent at the Arts and Crafts Cabin.
