Just Before The Dawn [DaeJae]

Thirteen

Youngjae was woken up from what sounded like a doorbell. He opened his eyes and looked over to Daehyun who was still sleeping peacefully. He could hear steps in he hallway outside the door and quickly closed his eyes, as it knocked.

Daehyun woke up when he heard his name being called. "Dae, why are you still sleeping? It's 1 pm!" 

"Shut up, Junnie..." he mumbled and sat up. "I was up late last night." 

Junhong nodded. "I see. And you have a visitor." 

"Yeah. Let's go outside, I want to let him sleep." He got up and they went to the hallway. 

"So tell me, what is he doing here? I'm surprised!" 

"He texted me last night, he was outside and had forgotten his keys so I let him sleep here." 

"Wow, I always thought he didn't want to get in touch with you." 

"I guess he didn't see an other solution but I'm glad he trusts me enough to ask me for help." 

The younger nodded and sighed. "You're right. I know what I said yesterday but... when I just came in your room I saw his arm and... Now I really think you have to keep trying to help him." 

Daehyun smiled, stretching his arms. "I'll do my best. By the way, why did you come here?" 

"I wanted to ask if you want to go to that new club in the town center tonight. My brother wants to check it out and I don't want to go alone with him." 

"Because you'll end up dragging him home?" 

"Exactly. e always drinks too much..." 

The older laughed. "Alright, I'll come with you. Now let's eat something, I need breakfast." 

"What about Youngjae?" 

"He can join us at breakfast when he's up, I don't want to wake him up now, the food won't run away." 

Junhong smiled. "It's sweet how you care about him." 

"Why? He slept here so I think he should get breakfast but he also needs enough sleep." 

"Just saying." 

There were steps in the hallway, then Youngjae heard how someone entered the room, came closer to him, then leaving. 

When he was completely sure the two were gone from the hallway, he opened his eyes and found a piece of paper next to him. 

'Good morning :) feel free to come to the kitchen for breakfast when you're ready'

Youngjae got up, waking up Kanji in the process. He went to the bathroom and got dressed, then thought whether he should go to have breakfast with them or wait if Daehyun came back to his room and say that he wasn't hungry - which wasn't even a lie since he wasn't used to eating breakfast - but eventually he left the room and went downstairs, following the voices of the boys, to the kitchen. 

"Good morning" Daehyun smiled and pointed at the chair next to him. "Sit down. Do you want  a coffee or anything?" 

"N- No, thank you, just a glass of water would be okay." 

"Alright, I'll bring you one. Feel free to eat whatever you want. No need to hold yourself back or be shy."
