Daehyun waited until his roommate had fallen asleep, before quietly getting up and leaving the room. He made his way through the empty hallways, until he reached Youngjae's room. He just had to see him. After a soft knock, he entered. he found the younger boy asleep and went to sit down on the chair next to the bed. The small lamp above the bed was on, but the light was dimmed, giving off a comfortable light.
Youngjae was still pale, but looked better than the last time Daehyun had seen him. Carefully, he touched the boy's cheek. "I'm sorry..." he whispered, his fingertips softly caressing Youngjae's smooth skin.
The boy grumbled and opened his eyes. When he saw the blonde, he frowned.
"What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to see you, I was worried... And I need to talk to you... Sorry, I just couldn't wait till tomorrow."
The younger sat up and rubbed his eyes. "What happened to your face?"
"Jumin happened. He was talking shit about you and... I kinda freaked out. He was the one who put your stuff in my bag..."
Youngjae looked at him. Daehyun's face showed he was serious and he had tears in his eyes, making Youngjae realize what he had done to him. Daehyun had done so much for him and he had just kicked him out, accused him of being an asshole, when all Daehyun really wanted was to help him. Youngjae felt, how the tears started running down his cheeks. "I'm sorry..." he whispered, before breaking down crying.
Immediately, Daehyun pulled him into a hug. "Hey, it's okay. Everything will be alright."
Youngjae sobbed, tightly wrapping his arms around the older, while Daehyun was softly stroking his back.
"I'm here, Jae. And I promise I won't leave you alone again. We'll get through this together."
The younger nodded. All he wanted was to be with Daehyun like before. He had realized how much he needed the blonde in his life. Daehyun had always managed to make him feel better. How could he ever have thought that he would do something bad to him?
After a few minutes of crying, he finally managed to calm down. He was tired now, he wanted to sleep, but he also wanted to stay here like this with Daehyun. He had missed this so much...
"Jae?"
"Mhmm?"
"Why did you do it?"
Youngjae took a deep breath. "I just... I couldn't handle all these bad thoughts anymore... I felt so bad for hitting you, I felt so lonely..."
"I feel like it was my fault" Daehyun mumbled. He had not planned to tell him this, but it did not matter right now. He didn't want any secrets between them.
Youngjae shook his head. "Please don't think this. It's not your fault my head is messed up. Please don't blame yourself..."
Daehyun pulled back, a soft smile on his lips. "I missed you, Jae... But I think we should both get some sleep now... I'll come back tomorrow, okay?"
Youngjae nodded. He wanted Daehyun to stay here, but he knew the hospital would not like this. At least, they had talked about everything now. Maybe he could finally sleep without nightmares.
"Then good night, JaeJae" Daehyun said with a smile, before placing a small kiss on the younger's cheek. "See you tomorrow."
