The rest of the weekend went by without any special events. On Sunday, Youngjae packed his bags for the class trip, getting more and more nervous. Jumin's threads repeated in his mind over and over again. From his experience, he knew this was not just a joke or a try to scare him - he knew that Jumin really meant it. He would hurt him when he felt like it.
Before he zipped his bag, he took a deep breath and stuffed in some paper and his pencilcase. It probably wasn't a good idea to write his stories while sharing a room with Jumin, he needed this just in case he had a new idea - he was a bit stuck on his most popular story recently.
The boy opened his cupboard and took a bottle of wine. He needed this, especially today, since it was his last opportunity to drink for almost a week.
Just then, his phone rang. It was his brother calling, as a look on the screen told him. The boy groaned, he really did not want to talk to Youngwon right now. Every time his brother called, the conversation ended with a pointless fight. In addition to that, Youngwon also had the unfortunate habit to keep calling until Youngjae picked up the phone. Once, he had just switched it off when his brother called. As a result, he had the latter coming to his dorm the next day, yelling at him for half an hour.
Eventually, he grabbed his phone and answered the call.
"Yeah?"
"Hey Youngjae, it's me. Just wanted to tell you we decided to visit mom's parents over christmas and new years eve this year. So you'd have to find somewhere else to stay over that time since grandma has only space for three visitors and to be honest, you always ruin christmas with your stupid fake depression attacks so it's better if you stay away this year. Oh, aren't you going on that class trip thingy tomorrow?"
The boy closed his eyes for a second, before answering. If he wanted the call to end quickly, he should just answer his questions without complaining about what his brother had just told him. It would be pointless anyways.
"Yes. Tomorrow morning."
"Right. Mom wants me to remind you to not do anything stupid, we don't need the police in our house because of you."
"Okay."
"Alright, that's all I wanted to say. Bye then."
His brother hung up and Youngjae sat down on his bed, opening the bottle of wine. Sometimes he thought if maybe all this wasn't real, if it was just a dream or a stupid prank show on TV. What had he done to deserve this kind of treatment? The bullying at school, his family which didn't want him... This was too much to be true.
The wine was gone within an hour. Youngjae lied on his bed, staring at the ceiling, thinking, trying to figure out why he shouldn't just do how Jumin told him the day the room distribution was announced. Who would even notice if he disappeared? His family? His classmates? Hell no. They would be happy they didn't have to deal with him anymore.
What about Daehyun?
Youngjae slowly shook his head. Daehyun was nice to him, but... No, he wasn't the good guy everyone thought he was. Youngjae knew how he really was, he was a player, using people to get what he wanted, then throwing them away. Mina, Youngjae's cousin, knew Daehyun, she had experienced this behaviour from him herself and Youngjae believed what she had told him. Mina was not the kind of person to make up stories.
