To his own surprise, Youngjae really had managed not to drink during the weekend. Of course, he had felt the urge, but every time he looked at the bottles in his closet, Daehyun's words appeared in his head and held him back. He did not want to disappoint Daehyun, as Youngjae felt that the blonde was the only one who cared about him - and he surely did not want to destroy this. And although his mind kept telling him that Daehyun did not really like him, that this all just was a plan to hurt him even more, the boy had decided he wanted to trust the blonde. He wanted to get better and Daehyun gave him the feeling that it was really possible.
So it came that on Monday morning he got up on time and arrived at school ten minutes before the bell rang. But before he could enter the classroom, he heard his name and looked to his right, where he saw Mr Kim. The teacher looked annoyed, his facial expression showed that he tried to hold back anger.
"Yes?" Youngjae felt his heart sink. What did he want from him? Would he yell at him about grades again? Had Youngjae done something wrong? Or was it because he had not been there unexcused for four days? The teacher told him to follow him and the boy felt more and more scared with every step he got closer to their destination, which ended up to be the office.
When they entered the room, Youngjae felt all confused, as he saw Ms Kim and Daehyun stand at the principal's desk.
"Good morning Mr Yoo" said the principal, looking up from some documents. "I just had a little chat with your teachers and we decided that it would be possible for you to move to Ms Park's class, if you want that. Mr Jung told us he had already spoken to you about this topic?"
Youngjae was speechless. He looked at Daehyun, who gave him a smile. Had Daehyun really done this for him? It took him a few seconds till he realized they were waiting for his answer, so he nodded. "Um, yes, I would... I would like to move to the other class." He cleared his throat as his voice was shaking, and looked at Daehyun again, still in disbelief that this was really happening. Sure, most of the students from the other class didn't like him either, but at least Daehyun and Junhong were there, instead of Jumin and his friends. Plus, the class was lead by Ms Park, and everyone would agree that she cared way better for her students than Mr Kim did.
"Okay" said the principal and made a few notes, "Then the change will be made immediately. The other teachers will be informed by me and Mr Jung will help you with anything and give you the schedule."
Youngjae just nodded, still at a loss of words, and mumbled a "Thank you", then they left the room and he noticed a last annoyed look from Mr Kim, before he felt Daehyun's arm around his shoulders. The older was grinning happily.
"Surprise, JaeJae~" he chuckled and hugged the boy. "I spoke to Ms Park and she said let's do it, so here we are. Now you're away from these assholes."
Youngjae nodded lightly, a soft smile on his lips. "Thank you, Daehyun... I- I really didn't expect this..."
"I know~ Hey, have you seen how pissed Mr Kim was? His face was amazing!" He laughed, hugging the younger once again, just when Ms Park left the office, smiling as she saw the scene.
"I see it was the right decision" she said, "But I'm afraid the lesson starts soon, so you'll have to come with me."
In the classroom, Youngjae could feel the eyes of all the students following him, as Daehyun lead him to a free chair next to his own. He could hear whispers from the back row, but quickly was distracted by Junhong, who greeted him.
"Hey Youngjae! Daehyun told me you'll spend the holidays at his place, so we're together on new year's eve! That's gonna be so much fun-" He noticed Ms Park looking at him with a raised eyebrow and quickly stopped talking so she could start her lesson.
