"I don't know what to do" Youngjae whispered after a while. He had managed to calm down, and now he just felt too weak to deal with everything. He needed help, he wanted help, so he just let everything out, telling Daehyun about his alcohol problem and his depression. Daehyun was holding him the whole time, calming him with soft words and hugs, and for the first time, Youngjae felt like someone really cared.
"You're not alone, Jae." Daehyun said after the younger's confessions, "I'll help you. I'm here for you and I won't ever leave you alone, I promise. We can do this together, okay?"
Weakly, the boy nodded. "But how...?"
Daehyun thought about it for a moment. "What if we start with getting rid of all this stuff in your closet? You can't drink if there's nothing there."
"I don't know... What about the withdrawal effects? I hate them..."
"I understand that, but I'm sure we can do something about this. Have you ever spoken to a doctor about it?"
Youngjae shook his head. "I never told anyone..."
"Okay, then we will figure something out. But please let me take these bottles away from you."
"But I need them... It helps me when I feel bad..."
Daehyun sighed lightly. "Youngjae, listen. I know what you're going through is hard to handle, but alcohol does not help you. It fucks up your body and your mind and there are better things you can do when you feel bad. You can always talk to me if you need someone, you can always come over or ask me to come to you. We will find a way for you to feel better, but alcohol is not the solution."
Evetually, the boy agreed to let Daehyun take the bottles. He really did not want to argue with the older, and he knew Daehyun was right. The alcohol had never made it better, maybe for a little while, but afterwards he had just felt worse. Hopefully, Daehyun could really help him...
It was around midnight when Youngjae reached the bridge. He was really hoping for a new message, and it seemed that luck was on his side today, as he saw words that had not been there last time.
So stay awake with me, let's prove them wrong.
Youngjae could not help but smile a little. Lately he had started to think that the unknown writer had forgotten about him, but he obviously had been wrong and he could not deny that he was a bit happy about this.
Kind of, he really wanted to know who it was. It seemed to be a nice person and he was curious what kind of person it was that had the patience to always stop here and read his lines or write new ones, but he was also a bit scared of knowing their identity. Also, they did not know who he was and if it was someone he knew? That would be so embarrassing...
