"DO YOU guys think I should get a cat or a dog?" Seye suddenly asked.

"Why would you get one? You can't even take care of yourself," Kelvin replied.

"You think you know me that well?" Seye asked while throwing daggers at Kelvin.

"Bitch, I throw your trash out in the office because you never do."

"Isn't that the reason there's a cleaner?"

"I think what you really want is a relationship," I said before the conversation became a squabble.

It was a common occurrence amongst them. There was no middle ground for them, they were either extremely nice to each other or arguing over something not worth it. I could never get used to it.

"As always you're right, Fatimah," Seye complimented which was an obvious, indirect jab at Kelvin. "But nobody wants me, so I can't have a relationship."

"Because you're always flirting with every girl you see. Why did the girl you met at the club refused to see you? Say the truth," Kelvin put in.

"You told him." Seye looked at me accusingly like I had just hit her with a car.

"I told him for your sake, I thought he could talk to you. You guys were friends before I came along."

"So why did she stop seeing you?" Kelvin pressed on.

"I suspect it was because I flirted with the bartender the night I took her on a date."

"No you didn't," I replied and left my mouth wide open.

"In my defense, it was harmless."

"There's no such thing as harmless flirting."

"Okay, Kelvin. Don't bite my head off."

I rolled my eyes and watched them both go at it.

"I'm only tired of you acting like the victim. It's becoming annoying."

"And you think you're not annoying?"

This was where I should interrupt and stop the argument, but I was curious to see where Seye was going with it.

"Why would I be annoying?" Kelvin asked, innocently.

"You're basically juggling two-"

My phone rang at that moment and I almost kissed the floor in relief. It was Akin, my savior. I silenced the call without picking and looked at Seye who was mercifully silent while Kelvin was watching me.

"I want you to meet Akin soon, like officially," I said, trying to lighten the mood.

"Are you guys dating?" Kelvin asked, frowning.

"Not yet. I just want you both to meet and get to like each other."

"That's no problem, I'm very likeable."

"Really?" Seye cut in.

"When?" Kelvin ignored her.
