They say when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. What happens when life gives you an organ-stealing cult, a horror game come to life, and drug-dealing drama all while you're trying to have a normal junior year of high school? Savanna Marrows is...

Veronica stopped the car outside an elaborate building that served as home to many apartments. We walked through the elegant halls until we were standing in front of a solid white door.
"Do we knock?" I whispered as I shoved my hands into my jacket pockets to keep them from shaking.
Ronnie shrugged. "Mom didn't say anything else."
My fingers grabbed something in my pocket, redirecting my attention. I pulled my right hand back out to see the key from the envelope in my grasp. My eyes snapped up, meeting Veronica's as I held the key out in front of us. I paused for a moment and stared at it before moving forward and shoving it into the knob. The key fit perfectly and twisted to unlock the door with a click.
The door slid open to reveal a sleek, fully stocked apartment. I walked forward, my Converse squeaking on the pristine tile floors. The kitchen contained dark wooden cabinets that contrasted perfectly with the white granite counters. Connected to that was the living room, completed with a couch, entertainment system, and a fireplace.
"Do you like it?"
I yelped and spun to see Mom standing in the hallway, a serious expression on her face. She grinned slightly at the scared reactions she received from Ronnie and I.
"What's this?" Veronica stepped in front of me slightly. "If you and Daddy are trying to-"
"Your father has no knowledge of this, mija, and if I can, I'd like to keep it that way," Mom forced as she made her way towards us. "This is for Savanna."
"Me?" I repeated in disbelief.
Mom sighed and took a seat at the counter. "Despite everything that has happened, you are my daughter. Your safety is my concern, and if I can keep you in Riverdale, even if it's out of Hiram's reach, I intend to do so."
"So, you bought an apartment thinking that it gives you a clean slate? Forgives all your wrongdoings?" Veronica challenged as she crossed her arms.
"Ronnie," I hissed, earning her attention. "Leave it."
Mom held her hand up to stop us. "It forgives nothing Veronica, I'm well aware. This is merely me trying to keep our family together as best as I can," She sighed deeply before looking at me. "It's all yours. Feel free to explore."
My jaw threatened to dislocate itself from my face and fall on the floor. This was my apartment. Mine. I wouldn't have to leave Riverdale. I wouldn't have to leave Veronica, Jughead, or Betty. I could stay.
As Veronica busied herself looking around the apartment, my fingers began rapidly typing at my phone screen, forming a message to Jughead.
you're not gonna believe what just happened
call me when you read this
My chest squeezed when I saw his read receipt appear beneath my messages but the phone remained silent in my hand. I sighed and shoved the device back in my pockets before attempting to find my sister in the maze of my new apartment.
