They say when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. What happens when life gives you an organ-stealing cult, a horror game come to life, and drug-dealing drama all while you're trying to have a normal junior year of high school? Savanna Marrows is...

The haunting effects of Gryphons and Gargoyles continued to hold Riverdale hostage as now pretty much everyone was playing the game.
Except me, that is.
I had heard rumours of G&G while being held at the Sisters of Quiet Mercy. I was never a true gameboard junkie either, but now it seemed to be a game I would have to learn front and back if we ever wanted to solve this mystery.
The forest crunched under my feet as I followed Betty to where Dilton Doiley had hidden a secret bunker. It had taken a while for me to adjust back to being in school and hiding around every corner again in fear of Hiram, but this investigation was keeping me busy regardless of what I wanted.
Betty stopped at a large gray hatch in the ground and heaved the cover off to reveal a dark ladder. She motioned for me to go down. "It's fine, I promise. Just watch your head."
I nodded and stepped past her to set my foot on the first rung before climbing my way down. I paused to watch her climb after me, leaving the cover off the opening.
"Jughead!" She called as she turned from the ladder and the two of us entered the bunker. "You're won't believe the story my mom told me last-"
Her words cut short as we stepped down into the bunker to find it quite occupied. Jughead wasn't alone. Toni, Cheryl, Fangs, and Sweet Pea surrounded a table with G&G spread out in front of them. They were obviously headfirst into the game with various pieces and cards scattered on the table.
"Jug," I mumbled, instantly gaining the attention in the room as everyone looked up. "What are you doing?"
My boyfriend rose from his seat with mild panic flashing across his face. "Sav, it's all making sense. All of this is becoming clear. The game, the Gargoyle King. I'm already on level three and it's only a matter of time until I ascend. Then, I get to meet him."
I shared a glance with Betty without even trying to hide my anger. "You're kidding me, right?" I turned back towards them with a look of disbelief on my face. Nobody moved. I sighed and flung my bag on the floor. "Alright, games over. Get out."
With groans, the rest of the group packed up the game and shuffled their way out of the bunker until just Jughead, Betty, and I remained. I fell into one of the seats with a huff before crossing my arms and waiting for the explanation.
Betty dove straight into the story about how all of the Riverdale parents had played G&G in high school, inevitably causing the return of it to the town. On top of that, the principal at the time, Mr. Featherhead, had died, which meant someone killed him.
"So, you've confirmed. My dad played G&G in high school, huh?" Jughead mumbled, more to himself than either of us. "Of course. It makes so much sense."
"All of our parents did and they swore each other to secrecy," Betty continued, "But Jug, while they were playing, one of them killed their principal back then, either accidentally or on purpose. He had blue lips. Just like Ben and Dilton which is why all of this-" She motioned around the room, "Has to stop."
