There was an extreme heat as Jughead and scrambled back into the car. After our quick pit stop to fill up a gas container, it didn't take long for us to get the entire trailer on fire, especially with the items already inside. I was just in shock that we managed to pull it off and not catch ourselves on fire in the mess of it all.

"Talk about watching your childhood go up in flames," Jughead joked as we watched the fire rage in front of us.

I shook my head as another window exploded from the heat, sending glass across the ground with the action. I turned to Jughead and watched him for a moment before asking, "Are you okay?"

He continued to stare straight ahead. "I'm surviving... because you're here with me."

I shook my head slightly before climbing over the console of the car to straddle his lap as I locked my lips with his. Jughead's hands were warm as he grabbed my waist, pulling me closer even as we continued kissing.

Even in the chaos of the moment, I felt the best rush of adrenaline ever, because how many people can say they made out with their boyfriend while watching a trailer burn to flames without a care in the world.

Jughead and I magically arrived at the high school in record timing just as Kevin called for the ten-minute warning. Music was playing from somewhere as we ran around various corners in an attempt to get to an empty dressing room or at least one with someone we knew. I needed to touch up my makeup before the opening introduction as instructed by Kevin.

"Where have you been?" Kevin rounded the corner and ran straight into us.

I gave him an apologetic look. "Hi, Kev. Sorry, we just had to make a quick stop."

The Keller boy looked confused by our appearances. "What is all over your faces? Soot?"

I shared a glance with Jughead as I stammered for an excuse. "I, uh."

"Nevermind," Kevin disregarded us, "Go to Betty's dressing room, she'll fill you in on your lines and choreography for the finale."

"What?" Jughead and I asked in sync.

Kevin just shook his head and waved his hands rapidly. "Just go! I need you on stage for the introduction."

Betty's room door was wide open as we jumped inside. She was doing quick touch-ups on her hair when she saw our reflection in the mirror. "Hey!" She greeted as she turned to face us. "Are you guys okay?"

"Lines? Choreography? Since when was this a thing?" I rushed as I sat down at the second vanity and opened my makeup bag.

"It's kind of a big statement song now. Kevin wants everyone in it," She explained. "I have a couple of songs off so I'll teach you in between okay? You've got eight minutes until curtain."
