Luckily for me, climbing up the side of the Pembrooke wasn't as hard as I figured it'd be. Now I understood how Jughead had down it countless times. My window was left unlocked as I always kept it and I slid it open easily before climbing in.

My room seemed untouched since the last time I was in here, but even in the darkness, I knew it wasn't mine. I felt completely unwelcomed here and there wasn't even anyone else in the room. Taking a deep breath, I shook my hands slightly before grabbing one of the backpacks from under my bed. I quickly shoved my laptop, a few keepsakes, and all of my jewelry in before searching the room for anything else I wanted.

Zipping it closed, I crept towards my door, knowing I would be able to sneak out the side entrance instead of risking breaking a bone by crawling back down the side of the building. I twisted my door knob slowly so it wouldn't creak before tiptoeing into the hallway. I could hear Jughead and Daddy speaking in a different room but since I didn't see any shadows, I figured I was in the clear. I crossed the living room, making sure to avoid the floorboards that were known to squeak if stepped on, and kept my footsteps as quiet as possible.

The sound of a phone ringing sent panic running through me as I froze in my spot near the couch. I waited until it stopped, yet my luck seemed to run out as Jughead stepped out of the study, his eyes instantly landing on me.

"What the hell are you doing here?" He hissed as he rushed to close the door behind him.

I gripped the straps of my backpacks tightly as I faced him. "I just wanted to come back and grab things! I wasn't going to do anything or confront him, it just-"

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" Hiram's voice sent chills down my spine as I clenched my eyes shut. Jughead was right, I was stupid for coming back here.

"I always knew you'd come running back," Hiram chuckled as he folded his arms neatly behind his back. "You could never survive that long on your own."

I looked up at the ceiling, my eyes blinking back tears before I looked at him. "I didn't come back here. I'm taking my stuff and leaving. Simple as that."

Hiram pressed his lips together and nodded. "Brave words, princesa. As soon as Sister Woodhouse called me to inform me of your escape, I knew you wouldn't go far. Not to worry, you put a pretty hefty dent in my bank account so I won't be taking you back anytime soon. Those medications sure were expensive."

Jughead's eyes met mine before I moved away in embarrassment. This was a terrible idea.

"I'm taking my stuff, and I'm leaving," I repeated, my knuckles turning white as I gripped the backpack even tighter. "Nothing more, nothing less. Don't worry, I won't be back. You won, I'm gone."

I turned on my heel and moved quickly towards the door, not forgetting to slam it shut behind me as I exited.

"You're insane, did you know that?" Jughead shouted as soon as he caught up to me on his bike.
