"You seriously need to start going to bed earlier," I told Jughead as I brushed his unruly hair under his hat. "I know your writing is important but so is sleep."

Jughead pushed my hands away as we walked up the steps of Riverdale High. "Hypocritical," He defended as he grabbed my coffee out of my hand to take a sip. "You're the queen of staying up too late."

"Touché," I responded as I stopped at my locker to push my backpack inside and snag my books for the first two bells. I closed the metal door and leaned against it as I went to continue our conversation but I was interrupted by shouting down the hall. Jughead and I shared a look as Toni Topaz stopped next to us.

"What the hell is going on over there?" She asked as she tried to see through the crowd.

As if on cue, Betty's more-than-a-friend Connor stopped in front of. "The Gargoyles are mixing it up with the Poisons and the Farmies."

"That's a sentence you'll never hear anywhere else," I mumbled as the three of us took off towards the scene. Jughead and Toni didn't hesitate to throw themselves into the crowd of people. I stood back in the hallways, watching as they attempted to dissolve the fight before it got out of hand.

"What on..." Weatherbee shook his head before students parted to let him through. There was more shouting until everyone disbanded. I leaned against the wall as Jughead and Toni were pulled from the crowd in the trail of Weatherbee. My boyfriend gave me an annoyed look as Toni just rolled her eyes, neither of them saying anything as they continued to follow him.

I just shook my head, not missing the opportunity to glare at one of the Gargoyles-turned-Serpents, Kurtz, before I made my way to first period without another word.

The Speakeasy was crowded with people when I arrived later that evening. Jughead had filled me in on his conversation with Weatherbee, revealing that the Chemistry lab had been robbed of all equipment, much of which could be used to make drugs. Jug said he was quick to shut the idea down, same with Toni, but it had me theorizing what Gladys was up to last night.

"Ooh!" Reggie exclaimed as Veronica slammed down a tray of empty glasses on the bar. "All good, boss? Need me to bounce someone?" He asked as he grabbed them to begin cleaning.

"Would that it were so simple, Reggie," She muttered as she watched Gladys and Hiram continue to wreak havoc on her business. Mrs. Jones and her buddies clinked another round of shots.

Hiram walked up behind us, a smile on his face as he approached the bar. "Mija, my guests would like another round."

"Big night for you fellas, huh?" Veronica asked smugly as she turned to face him.

He nodded. "Yeah, important prospective clients need to be properly courted."

"I see," Veronica seethed through her teeth, clearly annoyed with being used. "So, should I be putting all this on your American Excess, Daddy?"
