The Unexpected

Chapter 6

(DANIEL'S POV)

I've been waiting in the lobby for a couple hours now and I still don't see the girl from the cafe anywhere. I saw her this morning so I'm pretty sure she stays in the same hotel.

Just as I was about to go back to my hotel room, I see her walk in together with 2 other people. I'm guessing that's her mum and her sister. I jumped up, all nervous and went to see her. I know we just met, but there was just that feeling the moment I saw her. Y'know, besides her rubbing her hand all over me. She was so beautiful. I don't know how to describe it but I just couldn't miss this chance of at least trying to get to know her.

After our little conversation in the lobby, we both head up to our rooms and I couldn't stop smiling while walking back.

"Where the hell have you been?" Anna says. "I..uhh...I..I was just walking around the hotel. Y'know, get some fresh air."
My sister knew I was lying but she just nodded and didn't ask any further questions.

I hop in the shower and got ready for bed. I wasn't sure if Emma was still awake, but I took out my phone to text her nonetheless.

"Hey, are you awake?"

"Hey. Yes, I am. :)"

"I just wanted to say how wonderful it was to meet you today. Y'know, despite the coffee incident."

"Oh pleasee, don't remind me of that. It's one of my most embarrassing moments."

"Haha, alright I'm sorry. Won't bring it up again. (Maybe hehe) We all have those moments. Anyways, where are you from?"

"I'm from Singapore. How about you?"

"Oh wow! That's so far! I'm from Oregon but my family and I just recently moved to LA."

"Yeah haha, it is far. And omg I've never been to America. I have family there but we don't really visit them that often."

God she's so cute

"Ohh. Well, I hope you get to visit there soon! Or maybe even with me ;)"

I waited for a couple of minutes for a reply. Nothing. 'I guess it was TOO SOON?' I say to myself.
I decided to text her back trying to change the topic.

"So, how long have you been in Paris?"

"We just got here yesterday and it's been wonderful so far! It's been our long dream to visit Paris as a family. I feel like I'm still dreaming that I'm here. How about you?"

"We got here a couple of days ago. We wanted to know how Christmas feels like in Paris."

"Aww, that's cute. Who are you with?"

"My mum and my sister."

It took a while for her to reply back. I thought she was already asleep.

"Really? I'm with my mum and my sister too!"

"That's so cool! Anyways, you said you just got here yesterday? You must be so tired and jet lagged!"

"Yes. We're still trying to adjust to the timezone here since it's our first time going somewhere with a bit of a time difference."

"Well, I think you should go and sleep now. It's been a tiring day for you! I'll talk to you again tomorrow. Sweet dreams, Emma."

"Goodnight! :)"

Then I fell asleep myself.
