(EMMA'S POV)
*RINGGGG*
I woke up to the sound of my mum's alarm. Oh shit, WE'VE OVERSLEPT! To be fair, it was only 10am. We were planning to wake up at 8am to catch breakfast, but we missed it.
I took a shower first since my family knows I take ages to get ready. I put on some light foundation, little mascara, did my brows, blush, and a little lipgloss to add some colour on my lips.
The weather was a little bit cold than what we're used to, so I tried to layer up as much as I can. I don't have proper boots so I just wore my hightop converse with socks. Not my best look but it'll do. Anything just to keep me warm.We stopped at the front desk to ask where the nearest cafe is around here. They said there was a little cafe just right around the street.
We followed her direction and thankfully, we didn't get lost and found the cafe. We went in and looked around for a seat. We sat down for a bit and I stood up and said, "What do you guys want?".
"I'll just have some hot Americano with some tuna sandwich" said my sister. "I'll just have normal coffee and a croissant" my mom said.I went over to the counter and ordered. I just got hot caramel macchiato and some chocolate croissant as well. I waited on the other side of the counter for my food while looking on my phone. Thank god they have WiFi here, I was able to update Ali that I have reached here safely.
Emma: "Omg it is so pretty here! There's French people EVERYWHERE!!"
Ali: "hahaha of course, you're in France. It'll be weird if you don't see much french people IN FRANCE."
Emma: "haha shut up. Anyways, how are you?"
Ali: "I'm good. Surprisingly, it's been fun being here in my mum's hometown. It's so cool seeing where she grew up and getting to meet some of her old friends."
Emma: "I'm glad you're having fun, Ali. Hope we can find some time to video call soon! We'll have to plan it cause of our time differences."
And before I could read her reply, I heard my name being called
"ORDER FOR EMMA!"
"Hi, here"
The barista gave me my order and said that 1 drink was still missing. She said she'll just call me when it's ready.
I walked back to our table with a tray full of food and started to distribute it.
"Where's your coffee?" my mom asked. "It's not ready yet. They said they'll just call me when it's ready."
My coffee took a little longer than expected as I was already halfway through eating my croissant. Finally, they called my name and I came over to pick it up.I went to the little bench to get some sugar for my coffee and when I was about to go back to my table, I accidentally bumped into this guy and spilled my coffee all over him.
I said sorry over and over while trying to rub the coffee stains off with a tissue. He was just standing there watching me rub my hand all over his chest. It was not until a minute later that I looked up and realised that he was just watching me freak out while rubbing my hands all over his chest. He had the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen. Lashes that most girls would die to have. He was wearing a cap but that didn't bother me as you can still see how beautiful he is.
I stopped rubbing and just stood there and continued to apologise. I saw him opened his mouth expecting to hear a french accent but what came out was a surprise to me. American. "Hah it's okay. It's no problem."
I was a bit confused at first cause the coffee was literally all over his nice outfit and he wasn't angry at all."Ar..are you sure?" I said.
"No, really. It's no problem. My hotel is just walking distance from here, so I can easily go back and change." He says, pointing at the direction where our hotel was.
I didn't really think that he was staying at the same hotel as I was, since there were loads side by side.
"Urmm well, if you say so. Again, I'm really sorry! I didn't mean to! I'm just so clumsy."
He gave me a little giggle and smiled.
I walked back to my table feeling all guilty. I didn't even think about how I didn't have a coffee now.
