The Unexpected

Chapter 26

(DANIEL'S POV)

It's so hot and humid here in Singapore. Emma's mum offered to pick me up from the airport since I'm not very familiar in this city. Obviously.

She was waiting for me at the arrival area.

"Hello, sweetie. It's nice to see you again." She says, giving me a hug.

"You too, Celine. How have you been?"

We sat on one of the chairs.

"I'm doing good. You know, it's really nice of you to surprise Emma like this. She's been through so much as a child, with her father and everything. I'm glad that she found someone like you. Someone that cares so much for her. She deserves it."

I blushed hearing her say that.

"Thank you. It's very nice to hear that coming from you. I really am lucky to have met such a wonderful girl like Emma. She's so talented, sweet and loving, and I couldn't ask for a better girlfriend. She's been so patient with me, especially with the band. I know it's been so hard for her with the long distance and the fans. I know she's not used to it, the attention people give her. She's a simple girl and that's what I like about her. I feel like I don't have to be someone else when I'm with her."

She smiled at me, almost crying but I knew she didn't want to get too emotional.

"Shall we?"

"We shall."

We both got up and went to the car park.

"Emma doesn't get home till the late afternoon. You can stay in the house for a while or if you want, you can walk around the city. I've also prepared some food for you back home."

"That's so nice of you. I think I'll just hang around the house while waiting for Emma. I'm scared I might get lost." I chuckled.

Singapore is so beautiful. With all the greenery and it's so clean compared to LA. The air feels so clean and fresh. No pollution and all the cars seemed so brand new.

We pulled over in front of her house and opened the door.

"I'm sorry if the house is a little bit messy. This is tidiest it's gonna be."

"No problem."

She pointed me to the guest bedroom.

"So, this is your room. Emma's room is just right in front. To the right is my room and the other is her sister Emily's room."

"Thank you so much for letting me stay here, Celine."

"It's no problem. Anything to make Emma happy."

I just hang around in their living room waiting for Emma to get home from school. Her sister came home early from work to surprise her as well.

"Daniel! Ali just texted me. They're on their way. You can go up to her room and hide." her sister tells me.

I went up to her room and walked around. Her room looks amazing. All the posters, books, drawings. Her drawings looked amazing. I saw a little notebook on her desk that says "songs" in front. I opened it and I'm guessing it's the songs she's written. She has a digital piano in her room, with acoustic and electric guitars. Seeing how passionate she is about music makes me fall for her even more. I just wish she had the confidence to let people see how talented and gifted she is.

"Daniel, you ready?" Her sister sneaks up on me. I turned to her.

"Yes, I am."

I sat on the foot of her bed and waited.
