Chapter 27

(EMMA'S POV)

I went back up to my room and saw Daniel sitting on my bed while playing with my guitar. I just stood by the door and listened to him sing.

"She said 'hello', she was we letting me know
We share friends in Soho
She's a pain in the nose
And I'm a pain in women's clothes
"And you're a walking overdose in a great coat"
And so she wrote a plan for it on the back of a fag packet
She had to leave because she couldn't hack it
Not enough noise and too much racket
"I think I've spent all my money and your friends"

Oh, how I'd love to go to Paris again
Oh, how I'd love to go to Paris again.."

He stopped when he noticed I was watching.

"How long have you been there?" He asks.

"Long enough to hear you play." I say, walking inside the room.

I sat next to him and said "were you playing Paris by The 1975?"

He nodded.

"It's one of my favourite songs from them. They're my life, honestly. I love them so much!!"

"More than me?" He teased.

"Hmm well....."

He started tickling me.

"So you love them more than me huh?" He says, giggling.

"HAHAHA NO I'M JUST KIDDING! DANIEL STOP I'M GONNA FALL OFF THE BED."

"Well, of course I won't let my princess fall off the bed!"

He stopped tickling me and just stared into my eyes.

"I'm so glad that I'm here with you right now. You don't even know how happy you make me." he says and kissed my nose.

"Me too. Thank you for surprising me. You made my birthday 100x better."

"Anything for you, my princess."

Someone suddenly knocked on my door. It was my mum.

"TIME TO GET READY!!" She says.

We both got up from the bed.

"I should probably take a shower too. Haven't freshened up since I got back earlier today." said Daniel.

"You're disgusting"

"Don't fight with me. Do you want me to tickle you again?"

"It's my birthday. I'm not allowed to be abused."

"Well okay, birthday girl." He kissed my forehead. "I'm gonna go start getting ready. See you in a bit." As he walks out of my room.

After he left, I went to the master bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth since Daniel was using the bathroom I usually get ready in.

I got back to my room and changed out of my school uniform. I wore this sheer black florally dress with a black tank underneath, paired with a black heeled sandals. I'm usually not the type of girl who wears dresses or heels but it's my birthday, I figured I'll try something that's out of my comfort zone.

I don't really do anything with my hair since it's already naturally curly, so I just braided one side and pinned it back just to get it out of my face. Make up wise, I'm not the best either. I just did what I usually do when I go out which is some tinted moisturiser, little bit of mascara, blush, filled in my brows and put on some lip balm.

(DANIEL'S POV)

I honestly was not prepared for this dinner tonight. I have something on for Emma tomorrow evening, but certainly not today. I have no idea on what to wear so I just put on whatever I could find.

I wore this black and white striped long sleeve button down shirt with black trousers and some black shoes. I fixed my hair a little bit to make it look like I made an effort.

I noticed that I was done much earlier than Emma and her family, so I just waited down in their living room.

"Oh sweetie, I'm sorry to keep you waiting!" Celine said as she walked past the room.

"It's okay, it's no problem. Take your time."

"They'll be down in a minute, I promise."

I smiled and she walked away.

I continued scrolling down my phone when Jonah texted me.

"Hey dude, how's Singapore?"

"It's beautiful. It's so clean and organised. Wish you guys are here with me to celebrate with Emma. We definitely need to come here some day."

"I really wish we were!! Wish her a happy birthday for us, will you? And I'm down for it. So, how was the flight? What time is it there?"

"The flight went very smooth. Y'know it's kind of long but I survived. It's about half 7 at night here currently. Emma's family has a dinner reservation at a hotel and they invited me to go with them. I'm just waiting for them to get ready. And sure bro, I'll tell her! :)"

"Sounds fancy. Well, keep me updated. Also, if you see Ali, tell her I wish I was there with her right now."

"Haha sure thing bro. See you soon. :)"

I heard some footsteps coming down the stairs and I turned around to see Emma wearing this gorgeous floral dress that makes her look like a princess.

I stood up from the couch and went up to her.

"You look...BEAUTIFUL."

"Why, thank you." She smiles. "You look good yourself."

I smiled and nodded.

"I like your hair like that. It's very...messy but cute."
She says.

"Thank you."

Well that went well, seeing that I didn't make much effort do to my hair.

"Shall we?" Celine said.

"We shall!" She says.

We all follow Celine to the car with Emily walking behind Em.

Celine was the one driving with Emily in the front passenger seat and Emma and I at the back.

"Ali's just gonna meet us there." Emma says as she's looking at her phone and talking to her mum at the same time.

"Alright then, we'll just go." Celine said.
