The Unexpected

Chapter 17

(DANIEL'S POV)

I was sitting on one of the couches in the lobby while waiting for Emma to come down. I have my huge basket beside me and I can see people staring at me weirdly.

After a while, I see her go off the lift. She's wearing this short-sleeved black dress with tights and her hair in a small braid to the side. She has her converse on as usual and a coat on her arm.

I go up to her. "You look beautiful."

She smiles.

"Oh, and look, we match!" I chuckled.

She giggles.

"Shall we?" I say.

"We shall." She says.

We walk out the lobby and into the Uber that we called. It was all silence while we were on the way to the Eiffel Tower. I guess both of us were thinking about how this time tomorrow, I'll be at the airport and we wouldn't know when we'll see each other again.

A few minutes later, we've arrived and we got off the car. We just stood there staring at the sparkling Eiffel Tower at night.

She puts her head on my shower and I gave it a little kiss. "Do you wanna look for a spot?"

She smiles and nods.

I put out the blanket in the grass and took out the food.

(EMMA'S POV)

"Why are you so quiet?" He asked.

"Nothing."

"Are you sure? Don't you like all of these?"

"I love it. It's just that I can't stop thinking about how you're leaving tomorrow."

"Em..."

I start to cry and he gives me a hug.

"I promise you this is gonna work. We'll make it work."

He wipes the tears off my face and continued setting up.

"You even got a little candle" I say and he nodded.

"Here." He hands me a take away box.

"I'm sorry this is all I could do for now."

"This is perfect." I gave him a kiss.

We spent that night talking about walking around Paris trying to make use of the time we have left together.

THE NEXT DAY:

We all went down for breakfast together with Dani's family. This is our last breakfast for a while so we all tried to spend time with each other.

I spent my day packing for my flight tomorrow and also helping Dani.

"Gosh your suitcase is so messy." I say.

"I usually just dump everything in and squeeze it so it'll zip."

I rolled my eyes and started to take out of the things inside and reorganise it.

"There. See? Much better."

"I mean I don't see any difference but thanks baby." He grabs me from the back and kisses my neck.

The time went surprisingly quick that day. It felt like I had no time left with Daniel.

Before I know it, it was time to bring Dani to the airport.

My mum and my sister came along with me so I have someone to go back with.

We rented a bigger car so it could fit all of their suitcases as well as the six of us.

We sat in yet another silent car ride. We were holding each other's hand and I have my head resting on his shoulders. He keeps on kissing my head and looking out the window. I could see from the reflection that he was about to cry.

I tried to keep myself from crying cause I know that this isn't goodbye. We're still gonna see each other.

When we reached the airport, they checked in their luggage and stayed with us for a while to have some coffee.

Dani and I decided to walk around the airport, away from our family to have some alone time.

"Em.."

I look up.

"These past week with you has been amazing. Not just with you, your family too. I've never really met people who understands my family situation. Yes, the boys are like my brothers but you guys are different. You're different. I was scared to tell you about the band because I thought you'll start to think of me differently. But you didn't. You still treated me the same way when I met you. I know this long distance relationship is gonna be hard, but this will test how much we truly love each other. I've said this so many times but IT WILL WORK."

"I'm not gonna lie to you, when I found out that you were in a band, that set me out a little bit. I thought I'll be one of your hook up girls and you'll forget about me when all of this is over. But I've seen you be sincere. You really meant what you said to me. The things you've done for me. I appreciate that. I don't think I'll be able to handle being away from you. A lot have changed in these past couple of days that never in my life thought that will happen to me. One of it is meeting you. I'm so lucky to now have you in my life."

"I'm so lucky to be able to call you mine. I love you, Em."

"I love you too, Dani."

We kissed and walked back to the cafe.

I gave Anna and Keri a hug. "It was such an amazing time meeting you guys! I hope I'll get to see you soon."

"Oh me too sweetie." Keri said.
"I'm sure we'll see each other again." says Anna.

They both said their goodbyes to my mum and my sister while I walked to Dani and jumped right into his arms.

He lifts me up and hugged me so tightly when tears started coming out of my eyes.

"I'm gonna miss you so much, baby." He whispers in my ear.

"I'll miss you more."

"Promise I'll meet you soon, okay? This isn't goodbye. Let's just say, see you later?"

I chuckled and said "hah yeah" trying to stop myself from crying.

"Honey we gotta go. The boarding gate is quite a long walk from here." His mum says.

We let go of the hug and I can see that he was crying too. He went inside the departure area, looked back and waved at me and mouthed "I love you"

And I did the same.

I saw him walking away and the tears just kept on rolling down my cheeks. My mum and sister gave me the tightest hug and said, "it's all gonna be okay."

I got back to our room and just stared at my phone, looking through all of the pictures we took. Then I fell asleep crying with my mum by my side.
