(DANIEL'S POV)
Emma and I started getting ready in separate rooms when I noticed a paper bag sitting on the bed.
"Oh shoot. I forgot to give this to Emma!"
I walked out of the room and knocked on her door.
"Emma?"
I hear her music blasting while she sings at the top of her lungs.
I knocked again.
Nothing.
I stood by her door listening closely to know what song was playing. It was 'Dancing Queen' by ABBA.
I giggled a little.
I knocked again, slightly louder this time.
I hear the music turning down and some footsteps getting louder as it gets closer.
She opens the door.
"Hey! Are you ready? Sorry I'm not done yet. Just give me a couple more minutes, please?"
I chuckled. "It's okay, babe. I'm still getting ready myself. I just wanted to give you this." I handed her the paper bag.
"What is this?"
"Open it."
She takes out the beautiful maroon dress and instantly, her face brightens up. She jumped on me and gave me a hug.
"You didn't have to do all of this. You being here is already special for me." She says in my ear.
"I have one more."
I gave her a tiny box.
"It's from Mum. I forgot to give it to you yesterday."
She opened it and a smile formed in her face.
"It's very lovely. Please thank Keri for me. It's beautiful."
Little did she know I haven't given her, her main present. It doesn't end there.
I went back to the guest room and finished getting ready myself.
(EMMA'S POV)
You can say that Daniel's a life saver. I didn't have any idea on what to wear on this date but just like The Powerpuff Girls, he saved the day.
I wanted to put on more makeup than usual, but I didn't know how. I called my sister in to help me do a little bit of eyeshadow.
"Stop moving your eye will you!?" She says, in a slightly annoyed tone.
"Well I'm sorry I'm not used to people poking my eyelids."
"You're lucky you're my sister or I would've actually poked you in the eye."
There was silence for a moment.
"Y'know, Daniel's such a great guy. I know I've said this before, but he really is something. He even flew all the way from LA just to surprise you for your birthday. I can see that you're happy when you're with him and I'm glad."
I smiled a little.
"Okay, I'm done you can open your eyes." She says.
I looked at myself in the mirror and if I'm being honest, it looks quite good. Usually, eyeshadows aren't my thing since it doesn't suit me so much, but she did a great job.
"Wow, nice I look goooooooood"
"Obviously, I made you look good."
I rolled my eyes.
"What should I do with my hair?" I asked.
"Hmm, keep it natural since it has its own texture to it."
I nodded.
"What are you gonna wear?"
"Well actually, Daniel bought me a dress."
I stood up from my chair and took the dress out of closet.
"That looks beautiful, Em. He's got a good eye for clothes." She chuckled.
I borrowed her black heels since I don't own a pair of nice heels.
After she finished my makeup, she went out of the room to let me finish getting ready.
I put my hair in a half up, half down and put some hairspray in it to make it stay for the night. I wore the silver earring studs Keri gave me, which matched perfectly with my outfit. Not too over the top.
(DANIEL'S POV)
I was waiting for Emma in the kitchen and her mum and her sister were making dinner.
"How's your mum and sister doing, by the way?" Celine asks.
"Yeah, they've been great. They bummed that they couldn't come with me thought, but I promised them that they'll get to visit soon and see you guys again."
"I'm glad that they're doing well."
There was a silence for a moment.
"So, do you wanna eat something before you leave?" Emily asks.
"No no, I'm good."
Before she could hand me a bowl of chips, I heard footsteps coming from the stairs.
"Daniel?"
I stood up from the stool and walked over to the stairs to see this beautiful lady standing in front of me. How did get so lucky to have her and call her mine?
Celine and Emily both walked out of the kitchen to see Emma.
"You look so beautiful, sweetheart." Her mum says giving her a hug and I could see she was about to tear up.
"Mum don't cry. You're gonna make me cry. It's gonna ruin my makeup."
We all laughed.
"So, let's go?" Em says, looking at me from a few feet away.
"Yeah, sure but umm...before that, can we call an Uber? I'm not quite sure how to go there quite yet." I say.
"I'm onto it. So, you're going to EMMM..."
I looked at Emily as if telling her not to say where we're going out loud.
"You're going to...... a place yeah, that's right."
Emily helped me book this reservation for today and I couldn't thank her enough. It was her suggestion. I honestly wouldn't know what I'd do without their help.
We all waited in the living room together talking about our trip to Paris last December. It all seemed like yesterday and neither of us would've thought that we would meet each other since Paris is such a busy city.
"It's here." Emily says.
"Well, enjoy your dinner guys. Be home early." Her mum says.
"Don't worry, we'll be back before 12."
She nodded.
We both headed out the door and into the car.
It was about 10 minutes into the drive when she asked, "so, where are we going?"
"You'll see."
Author's Note
Hello everyone!
I wanted to come on here to tell you that I wrote a new story! It's not about Why Don't We though. It's about New Hope Club, so if you're a fan of them, you might like this one! It's called "Virtually Friends". I know it's a little bit cheesy but I'll try not to make the story super cliché. I only have 2 chapters up so far but I'll be writing more soon!
I hope you check it out!
Much love,
Micah.
