The Unexpected

Chapter 14

(EMMA'S POV)

We went to the counter to buy some tickets and went inside the park. Of course, my mum being my mum, we couldn't get past the front without taking millions of pictures.

"Can you take a picture of the three of us?" she said to Daniel passing him the camera.

"Mom!" I say to her.

"Hah no worries." Daniel looked at me.

My sister, mum and I started to pose infront of the fountain.

"Alright, ONE, TWO, THREE, SMILE!!!!"
"One more one more!"

Gosh he's so cute.

I started doing a double chin with my sister and I can see Daniel giggling.

I walked towards him to look at the camera. I was so close that I didn't even realise he smelled this good. A few seconds later, my mum and my sister came over to look at the picture. "This looks good! This is really nice. Thanks!" said my mum. He smiled.

"Do you guys want me to take a picture of you three?" I asked Daniel.

"That would be wonderful." I hear Keri say.

After our somewhat photo shoot, we finally walked around to see what we should do first.

"I want to ride a roller coaster!" I say.

"Omg me too!" I hear Anna say. "But SOMEONE HERE IS SCARED OF ROLLER COASTERS." she looks at Daniel.

He looks down at his shoes as if he doesn't know that her sister is talking about him.

"You don't like roller coasters?" I ask him.

"Um..." he looks up at me. "Just not a fan."

"Well okay, here's the deal, before the end of the day, you should ride at least one with me, Anna and Emily. You can choose whichever you want as long it's somewhat a "thriller"."

"Okay, fine." He says.

We spent the rest of the day walking around and trying to catch the shows and parades.

Before the day ended, I reminded Daniel of our deal. He decided to choose the Hyperspace Mountain roller coaster. We didn't have any fast past so we waited in the queue for a while. I could see that Daniel was really nervous.

"Dani, it's fine. It's gonna be okay."

There were only two seats per row so Daniel and I sat together with Anna and Emily infront of us.

The people helped us got our seatbelts on and I could feel Dani shaking.

"Dani, it's gonna be fine." I held his hand to try to keep him calm. "Breathe."

The ride started to move. I glanced at Daniel and he got his eyes closed with his hands holding on tight onto mine.

He's like a child, it's adorable.

When it got to the part where we were going down the slope, I screamed so loudly together with Daniel with his hands still gripping on mine.

"THAT WAS SO AWESOME!!" He said, when we got down.

"I told you."

He gave me the tightest hug and I just did the same.

We went out of the ride and saw our mums waiting for us.

"How was it?" Keri asked to Daniel.

"IT WAS SO FUN!! I don't know why I haven't tried this before!!!"

"Thank you, Em." Hugging me again.

When we realised the four of them were looking at us, we quickly came out of our hug and awkwardly smiled at them.

"So, why don't we look for a nice spot for the fireworks?" I say, breaking the silence.

I didn't even realise I said his band's name until he gave me a little smirk.

"Okay that wasn't intentional!" I chuckled.

We grabbed some dinner before we got a nice spot right in front of the castle for the fireworks. It was getting a little chilly and I didn't bring an extra coat.

"Are you cold?" Daniel asked.

"Yeah, a little bit it's okay."

We were both just wearing our sweaters, so he just cuddled with me trying to keep me warm.

What is happening? He's been so sweet to me ever since we met and it's only been a few days. We're not even together. That kiss, that one kiss probably meant nothing to him, but that was my first. It meant everything to me. Thinking about how I'm leaving in 2 days just makes me sad that all of these will be over. Everything will be back to normal. Me, going back to Singapore and him to America. As if none of this happened. Part of me was hoping that he won't forget about me, but I'm probably just part of his holiday hook up girls.

I tried to keep my mind at peace and just enjoyed the fireworks with his and my family. The fireworks were so colourful. The story line made me feel like a kid again.

It was so crowded walking out the park. The wait for the shuttle took longer than expected. All of us were so shattered but had an amazing day nonetheless.

When we reached the hotel, our families said their goodbyes and walked to the lift.

I was about to go in when Daniel suddenly grabbed my wrist. "Can we talk please?" He asked me.

I looked at my mum and she just nodded. The lift door closed and we walked going to the garden of the hotel.

(DANIEL'S POV)

Today was one of the best Christmases I have ever had. I spent the whole day with mine and Emma's family and conquered my fear of roller coasters.

It was that moment, when I was hugging her waiting for the fireworks that I realised how much she makes me happy. In a few days, both of us will be leaving Paris and go back to our own lives. I don't want all of the things that happened in these few days to be all forgotten. I want to get to know more about her.

I've never been good with girls, which is surprising to some people since I'm in a band. But I'm just waiting for the right one and I think she might be it. I want to get to know her more. More than just a holiday friend I met in Paris. I want the boys to meet her and get to know her as well. It's difficult seeing that we both live so far away from each other but I will make it work.

We were walking at the hotel's garden in silence when I said "Emma?"

"Yes?" she looks up.

"I've been thinking...I..I don't want this to end when we go back to our own lives. I want to continue to get to know you more. To know you for you, your life. I know it's difficult but we'll make it work."

"I...Dani..I don't think so."
