(EMMA'S POV)
We arrived at the hotel and it looks amazing. The huge chandelier in the middle of the room sparkled through the walls. There were some instrumental music playing that made everyone's mood better.
Ali was waiting at the lounge for us.
"Heyyy Em! Happy birthday again!" She says, hugging me.
"Thanks, Ali. Thank you for coming."
"No problem, Em. You talk like we haven't been friends in years."
Daniel was behind me.
"Also, Ali, this is Daniel."
He came up from behind me and said "Hey Ali. Nice to finally meet you in person."
"You too."
Then Ali gave me a nod.
We all walked to the restaurant together.
"Hi, I have a reservation for 5?" My mum said to the lady standing by the table.
"Mrs Rodriguez is it? This way ma'am."
The nice lady pointed us to our seats. It was a buffet restaurant so you can eat anything and as much as you want.
We all went to the buffet tables together to look at all the food. They were all of my favourites! Japanese, Chinese and other western cuisine.
Daniel and I went back together and he was rushing to put his plates down. He pulled out the chair for me and said, "My lady."
My sister was beside us and went, "Ugh stop it you two, you're too cute."
We both giggled.
All of us sat around 2 tables and just chatted.
"So Daniel, I heard you just finished your album?" My mum asked.
He finished chewing and answered, "Yeah yes, we did. It's been such a great experience actually. We've never been in a studio before and sitting there and writing songs with my 4 best friends has been amazing."
"That's great. You should try and convince Emma here to release some of her songs. I hear her sometimes in the middle of the night writing songs. It sounds amazing. I might be bias since she's my daughter, but you can have a listen yourself."
"MUM!!"
"I actually agree there with your mum. You have a talent, Em. You should let people know about it."
"I second that." I hear Ali say.
"Me three." My sister say.
Before I could fight back, the waitress came in with my cake and started singing Happy Birthday.
"Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday Dear Emma,
Happy birthday to you"
I closed my eyes.
*I wish that we're always this happy and together*
I blew the candles and everybody started cheering.
"This is for you, my lil sis." Emily handed me a small box.
"It's a gift card for you to shop for your trip to New York. It's a small one but at least you can get something that you like."
