The Unexpected

Chapter 18

(EMMA'S POV)

It's been a couple days since we got back from Paris.
So far, Daniel and I are still figuring out how our set up would be, so that we'll be able to talk everyday. For now, we usually talk right when I wake up and it's the afternoon in LA. However, that will change when I start school. I'll be rushing to leave in the morning and wouldn't get back till late afternoon. We'll figure something out.

"EMMA, DINNER'S READY!!" I hear my mum scream from the kitchen.

I get up from my bed and went down to the kitchen.

I sat next to my mum with my sister in front of me at the table.

"How are you, sweetie?" My mum says slowly grabbing my hand.

"I guess I'm okay. We've been talking almost everyday but I feel like it's not enough."

"It's okay lil sis. You'll see him soon and besides, you have us, don't you?? And Ali too." my sister says and I chuckle.

After dinner, it was my night to wash the dishes so I went up to my room, grabbed my phone and speaker, and turned on some Why Don't We. 'Invitation' came on shuffle first, which was perfect! It's one of my favourite songs from them.

I started washing the dishes while my sister cleans the table. She came to the kitchen to put the plates in the sink when she heard Why Don't We playing.

"Is that Daniel's band playing?"

I nodded.

She hasn't really fully heard what their songs are but she started dancing. I couldn't help but join her.

"They're good!!" She says and we just danced until I finished washing all the dishes.

After I'm done, I went to the bathroom, brushed my teeth and took a shower. I picked some pyjamas and laid on my bed. I was up staring at the ceiling while thinking about some thinks when I heard my phone ring.

I got up from my bed and picked up my phone from my study table. It was Daniel.

"Heyy!!" I say.

"Hello, my princess. How are you?"

"I guess I'm alright. Wait, isn't it like early morning there? Why are you awake?"

"I couldn't sleep so I decided to call you before you go to bed."

"Great timing, Mr Seavey. I was just about to go to sleep."

"Oh, I'm sorry you can go to sleep now, I'll call you tomorrow."

"No no no I was just kidding. I'm glad you called. I miss you so much already."

"Miss you more, my princess. Promise we'll see each other soon, alright?"

I sighed.

"So, how was your day?" He asked.

"It was fine. I'm still on break so I just spent most of my time watching TV shows, movies and learning some new songs. How bout you?"

"Well, I just spent it with the boys and the fam. Just the usual jamming, writing songs and all. We should really jam together the next time I see you. I still have yet to hear you sing."

I blushed. "Maybe. Let's see."

I started to yawn.

"Oh aww, someone's getting tired. Go ahead just go to bed. Have some rest and beauty sleep, I'll talk to you when you wake up." he says.

"Okayy. Go to sleep too. It's so late already. Miss you, babe. See you soon. Goodnight"

"Miss you more, goodnight my princess."

(DANIEL POV)

I woke up the next day feeling so tired. Must be the jet lag.

I went down to the kitchen to see my mum cooking breakfast. I was confused at first cause usually when I wake up, she'll be off at work but then I remembered, it's the weekend.

"Oh good morning, sweetie." She says when she saw me.

"Morning, mum." Giving her a kiss and a hug.

"We're having pancakes today so go call your sister so we can eat together."

I got upstairs and stood in front of her door.

"Do you wanna build a snowman?" I say, while knocking.

I heard her get up and opened the door.

"What?" She says, looking like a mess.

"Do you want to build a snow- just kidding we're in LA. But breakfast is ready."

"Okayy." She replies still looking confused.

I don't know how I suddenly had that energy to joke around but I'm not complaining.

I helped my mum set the table out and later on, Anna came to help too.

We were eating when Anna broke the silence. "Were you talking to someone last night? I heard some voices."

"What? No. Must be some ghosts."

She looked at me. Not sure whether to believe me or not.

"I'm just kidding. Yes, I was talking to Emma last night."

"Ohh." She sighed in relief.

"Speaking of Emma, how is she?" my mum asked.

"She's doing fine. We're doing fine. Still trying to figure out each other's timezones."

"Well I'm glad you guys are doing okay. Be strong!"

After breakfast, I decided to hang out with the boys. I got ready and headed out to Jack's house.

I rang the doorbell. "Yooo Daniel, what's up?" He says as I stood outside his front door.

"Tired but I'm surviving."

"Well, c'mon in. Jonah and Corbyn are not here yet but Zach's in the living room so we can wait for them there."

I walked to the living room and greeted Zach. He was playing with Jack's little sister, Isla.

"Hello, Isla. How's it going?"

She smiled at me as I sat on the sofa.

I looked at the TV and Fortnite was on pause, then looked at Zach and Jack. "Really??"

They both giggled.

"What? It's fun. You should try to play it sometime." Jack says.

"Nahh. I'd rather spend my time writing songs and being productive."

Jack rolled his eyes.

A few minutes later, the doorbell rang once again and Jonah  and Corbyn arrives. I stood up from the sofa and greeted them.

"So, what do you guys want to do today?" Corbyn asks.

Usually, we're pretty busy every day but since we're on break, we have not much to do together so we decided to just watch a movie and jam out after.

It was a very chill day with the boys and that got my mind off at how much I miss Emma. They still don't know that we're dating. I don't know why I haven't told them yet, the topic just doesn't come up. Maybe I'll tell them tomorrow, who knows?

I'M BACK!! I know I said I won't be updating anymore but I suddenly had some ideas for this story so I decided to continue it. Updates won't be too often, but I'm gonna try at least once a week.
