tree leaves

sickingly sweet sips of your heavenly poison
drip
achingly slow
down my neck
erasing all i used to know

flickering irritation quickens your pace
you'll be here
in merely a couple days

but what will you do
your sharp moves and shy tongue
always latching onto the good ones

so structured
so precise
always known for thinking twice

every step is calculated
every victim coordinated

your skill set blooms into vines
choking those you love
strangling a few to leave behind

and you're so common like leaves on trees
your existence a diamond to the light
a white blindfold on the nation's eyes

but the unnoticeable
the unmentioned
is how discreetly the tree leaves
into a different dimension

breathing in separate lives
alive in everyone's hearts
but one thing you can't do
is fall in love
for that's one thing you'd never know how to start
