sore throats

i ate a whole tub of ice cream
throughout the whole day
we never managed to do that
didn't we

all of our laughing
left me with a heartache
alone with a sore throat
from the conversations we made

we said we'd go to that church
that looks down from that hill
we didn't get to go there
i'm starting to doubt we ever will

my thought of you changes
like the cells of my skin
different with ever minute
only similar somewhere within

i hate you and i love you
you know this all too well
but when you leave a kiss on my cheek
i understand why i fell

oh i hope they see the same in you
and you don't change too much
just express what you believe
and let life take you by luck

i hope you're never too far
and will help me clean my room
knowing me, it'll be a mess
but it's far messier without you
