i understand that you thought
you had it all planned out
though i can't seem to grasp
how you're still so calm now
so don't underestimate my thoughts
just because you think you know
i have a few states of mind
and there's always somewhere i can go
your phone must be overheating
from everything it's seen
the poor listener in the middle
who never signed up to anything
but frankly when the time has gone
it'll have better reasoning
for it'll understand when you won't
all because it was actually listening
don't get caught in the rain
despite it washing away your struggles
knowing you, you'll get obsessed
a new universe in a puddle
and suddenly you'll be gone
befriending the drops of water
but you'll still be forever alone
because nothing can replace her
don't walk amidst the mist
though it's just so tempting
stay inside against your wits
though your mind is trembling
just count your sloppy seconds
for knowing what you're like
you'll have somebody next to you
who will actually be dry
