Emi sat quietly as she continued to hold the phone to her ear. She was trying to avoid this person, so she wasn't aware why she had picked up the phone. "You know, you can say something?" Crow laughed on the other end. "It was be nice. I feel a little left out at the moment."

Biting her lip, Emi was unsure of what to say. 'Hey guess what? I'm really a mermaid whose going through emotional trauma after finding out my mated little brother might not be able to live here and that I myself might be forced to leave and erase his memory!' Emi shuck her head, that conversation was ridiculous. "Well, a lot of things have been going on," She mumbled. "I didn't want to involved you until I knew what was happening."

There was a brief silence between the two of them before Crow spoke. "I'm coming over tonight," He proclaimed. "No ifs ands or buts. Be ready by six."

Before Emi could respond Crow hung up. Emi sighed, her heart was heavy with guilt. Not once did she expect to fall for someone while living on the shore. In the mer-people community it was highly expected for someone like herself to marry a high-ranking member of the community. Emi always knew that wasn't what she wanted, she wanted to live a life and explore, which is why when she left the community to assist Declan, she was told she had two years to decided where she felt she belonged. The next thing she knew Yuya was shore, mated and her 2 years where nearly over. "Sis," Yuya called out as he entered the apartment. He walked through to the living room, seeing Emi's head hung low. "Everything okay?"

"I'm going out tonight," She said bluntly. Taking a deep breath Emi put a smile on her face, greeting Yuya happily. "So, any more news about Yuto's charm? Is it real?"

With a heavy sigh Yuya crashed on the sofa.  "Yuri is confused too," He explained. "From what I could tell, it shined for me and Yuri but not Yuto. Maybe it was just wishful thinking that maybe Yuto was a mermaid after all."

Emi wrapped an arm around Yuya tightly, bringing him into a hug. "At least we have a lead," She assured stroking his hair. "It's small but it's something. Don't worry, we'll get this all sorted, I promise you."

"It's just, if Yuto's dad was a mermaid who somehow became a human, then we know that we can do that to," Yuya said hiding his face.

"You really want this don't you?" Emi asked with a sad smile, earning a nod. "Then we'll get to the bottom of this don't you worry."

A few hours passed, Emi had been in touch with Declan to see if he could get hold of Yuto's family history. If there isn't anything about his father prior to Yuto's birth then their suspicions maybe correct in Yuto's father being a mermaid. If there was detailed history, well then, it meant back at square one. As it approached six Emi's stomach started to churn with nerves. What was Crow going to say to her? What was she going to say to him? The doorbell rang and Emi jumped, wanting to hide underneath the sofa as Yuya answered the door. "Hey Crow," Yuya greeted.

"Hey bud, so is she ready?" Cutting straight to the point Crow followed Yuya into the living room. It was too late for Emi to run as Crow caught eye of her like a bird stalking its next meal. He held out his hand, "Come on. I have somewhere I want to take you."

Emi took his hand, feeling how it shuck in her grasp. She asked herself how Crow could be so nervous when he was the one who was forcing her out. A little over half an hour past and they arrived at a familiar destination. "I know this place," Emi stared at the scenery. "I used to play here when I was little." Memories flushed back to Emi, some happy others sad and one of a human boy. The boy she had kissed at ten years old and whose heart she broke. After the elders found out about her interactions with a human, she was forbidden to come back to this place as punishment.

"Well that's good," Emi turned to see Crow with a big smile. "I thought you'd forgotten about this place. Afterall you stopped showing up one day." Emi's eyes widened in horror. "I wasn't sure it was you at first but that night at the festival, when you mentioned kissing a small boy and breaking his heart, I kind of guess. Seems I was right. Emi, you were that girl I kissed, weren't you?"

Stunned Emi couldn't speak. She remembered kissing the boy back then so she could gain human speech. Fingers traced her lips as the memory flooded back to her, remembering how the boy looked. Orange spiked hair, grey eyes. "Oh my god," Emi whispered a tear falling down her face. A large smile covered Crow's face as he hugged her tightly. "You knew, you knew all this time who I was? You knew what I was?"

"I'm sorry," Crow whispered. "I should have told you. I still remember your tail, it was such a beautiful colour, like your hair. Seeing you that day in the rain, I knew I'd found you again and I didn't want to let you go."

His grip tightened as he spoke. The tears falling rapidly from Emi's eyes as she gripping onto him. "Then don't," She cried. "Because I don't want to either! I don't want to leave the life I've made here. I want to live here with all my friends and I want Yuya to be happy. I want to be human so I can stay with you."

Crow pulled away, stroking Emi's cheek. "Declan told me the situation," He advised. "And I promise that we'll find a way for you and Yuya to become human. No matter what I'm not letting you go. I love you Emi."

Emi could see tears forming in Crow's eyes. "I love you too," She declared kissing him full on the lips. "I love you."

A/N - I'm almost tempted to do a side book of one of two things (that all relate to this story)

1. A side book with oneshots that include specials for valentine's day, Christmas etc and some stuff about Shay and Declan's secret relationship to begin with and stuff with Yugo and Yuri

2. Or a book, short of a prequel, about Yuri and Yugo and how they met and fell in love

If you can let me know your thoughts that would be very much appreciated

Next chapter has some very interesting events coming up, just wanted to get this in here as I felt sorry for Crow not being apart of the cast for a while.
