Christmas came and went quickly. It was almost as if the day didn't happen with the only remains of the day being turkey and the overflowed bins, filled endlessly with colourful gift wrap. Yuya was currently in the living room, still observing his present from Yuto. His lover wanted to continue to nurture Yuya's creative side so decided to buy him a camera. Yuto chuckled as he approached his lover form behind, nesting Yuya's hands with his own and feeling the weight of the camera. "It's a calm day," He spoke deeply into Yuya's ear. "Why don't we go along the shore and you can practice with your camera?"

The young lover nodded, carefully placing the camera back into its bag. He turned, wrapping his arms around Yuto and kissing him deeply. This was Yuya first Christmas, though it went by quickly, he loved every moment of it and knew that they could only get better. Yuto practically showered him with gifts and love. Yuya was happy knowing this is how his human life was going to be and soon he would be becoming human. The time was coming when there was a year's end mating season which was the perfect time for, he and Yuto to make Yuya human. His life expectancy would drop to that of a human's and he wouldn't be able to turn mermaid at will, only being able to during certain periods of the lunar cycle but it was going to be worth it.

Unlike when they first mated, where they went to a hotel, they would complete this in the comfort of Yuto's home. Lulu already had plans with Rin and Selena to take Yuzu out on a girly adventure while Shay would be staying with Declan while the office was closed over the winter break. "I'll go get my coat," Yuya smiled quickly dashing to the hallway to retrieve his winter coat. He also grabbed his scarf, wrapping it loosely around his neck.

Yuto wasn't far behind him. As Yuya zipped up his coat, Yuto placed the camera bag of his shoulder before dressing himself in his winter wear. The pair intertwined their hands before leaving to walk along the shore. Yuya was in awe as he stared at the ocean as they walked. The way the sunset flickered off the waves was truly memorizing, the way they moved was different to how he thought they would having only see this from under the water. "Say Yuto," Yuya spoke up. "Are you happy you found me?"

The older lover was taken back a bit. That wasn't a question he really expected Yuya to think so deeply. He smiled, gripping Yuya's hand tightly. "I don't regret that day I found you," He explained. "If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't feel a much closure as I do now. I've also learnt a lot about myself and my own history. I come from two worlds and I want to learn about all of them as much as possible."

Yuya practically cuddled up to his lovers' arm as he used both of his hands to hold it. "You've taught me a lot too, you know?" He giggled. "And I can't wait to show you my home. Well, my old home. Afterall, where ever I go with you will be my new home. I can't wait until we have our own house. Yuri gave me some ideas what to do if we get a garden."

Yuto chuckled as Yuya's excitement. Though he felt the same. Not wanting to wait long before they could start building up their own house and do things like any other normal couple would. The pair stopped and Yuya hurried to get his camera out. "Yuto, I want a photo of you next to the sunset," Yuto raised an eyebrow in confusion but complied. He gave a smile and Yuya took his photo with a quick click of the button. He let out a giggle, observing his handy work. "I think I'm getting the hang of this."

"I'm glad," Yuto blushed. He walked back to his lover as Yuya placed the camera back in its bag. His hands wrapped around the petit waist closing any distance that was between them. "Yuya, I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

Yuya's cheeks tainted a light pink at the ay Yuto proclaimed his feelings. "Yuto," He started. "Neither can I. So, I'm in your care, please look after me."

"I will," Yuto nodded, kissing his lover deeply. To believe all that had happened over the space of just a year is incredible. Learning about love and loss and about hidden family secrets. All of it was going to lead to new adventures in the upcoming year and it felt like it was to be a year of exciting and welcoming prospects.

A/N - this is such RANDOM fluffy filler even I'm embarrassed by it. This story possibly has another 10 chapters or so left with what I have planned so will soon come to an end. I thank everyone for the continuing support and don't forgot there's still awaiting love too which is having slow updates too.

Happy Valentine's day to you all too
