Years passed for the lovers and different adventures had come and gone. Yuto had received a promotion within Declan’s company which allowed them to have a larger wedding then initially planned. While Yuya actually managed to gain attention as an upcoming photographer. While taking his own photos her also did weddings and special occasions so he could continue to contribute to his family as he wanted.

After a couple years of bliss, the now married couple moved into a three-bedroom house. Though the original intention was to only buy a two bedroom they both decided, after long discussions, a bigger house would be better.

Now they were moving onto their biggest venture. A baby. A mere six months after moving into their home, Yuya had announced their pregnancy. He was now nearing his due date. Very soon he would give birth to a child that was mix of him and Yuto, of land and sea. Human and mermaid. He sat on the corner sofa, rubbing his stomach as Yuri and his two-year old daughter Hana, sat on the floor playing with her toys. “Are you getting nervous?” Yuri asked passing Hana a stuff bear.

Yuya hummed, shaking his head. “Just the opposite,” He sighed happily. “I’m very excited to be meeting my little one soon.”

“Has Yuto been able to arrange his paternity leave with Declan?” Yuri picked up Hana, who was still holding the bear to sit next to Yuya. Yuya nodded. “And you have an emergency bag all made?” Again, another nod. “What about a name?”

The pregnant mermaid laughed to himself. “Oh yes, we have a name,” He declared. “But until this little one is with us; we’re not telling anyone.”  With a ‘hmph’, Yuri turned his head jokingly as if to seem like he was ignoring Yuya.  “Oh, don’t be that way. I’ve not even told my sister yet.”

“Speaking of, is she back now?” Yuri asked.

“They came back a couple days ago,” Yuya beamed, happy knowing his sister would be back in time for the birth of his first child. “She called to say England was lovely for their honeymoon. They ventured around London for a few days before heading to a beach.”

Crow and Emi were the last of the couples to get married. Not for any particular reason other than they wanted to moment to be right and spend a few more years travelling first. This also gave time for Crow to finish his family law degree and get a comfortable job to be able to support them both. They had certainly travelled to many places before settling down with their new home and wedding. As their wedding present Yuya had done their photography and even had a special album made ready for their return.

“Everything really has fallen into place for everyone now,” Yuri smiled holding Hana tightly. “If it wasn’t for you Yuya, I don’t think I would hav been able to see myself with Yugo and even have my beautiful Hana.”

“That’s awfully ki-ahh,” Yuya stopped mid-sentence and his gentle caressing of his stomach became a sharp grab. “That kick was a bit-ahh!”

In a slight panic Yuri placed Hana back onto the floor and grabbed his phone. He knew the sound of that pain all too well and it unknown to Yuya, it seemed it would be time.

“Here are today’s reports, sir,” The secertary smiled handing Yuto the necessary paperwork. “Is there anything else I can get you?”

“No, that’s all Janet,” Yuto chuckled lightly as Janet left the room. Stretching his arms upwards, Yuto leant backwards trying to remove the stiffness from his upper half. It was only half way through the day, but he felt ready to leave already. As the due date neared, he felt more and more anxious and the days became longer to him. He was eager to meet his child and shower them with love and affection. “I hope Yuri is taking care of Yuya.” He mumbled to himself brining his arms back to the desk.

He couldn’t help but think about how his life was about to change. Once the baby made an appearance, that would be it. It would no longer be him and Yuya but he, Yuya and a baby. Something he wanted for a long time and craved for since learning about Yuya’s ability to carry. He wondered who the baby would take after. He was hoping perhaps Yuya’s beauty and his intelligence would make for a good mix. Splash in Yuya’ personality as well, though whatever the child was like Yuto would love them all the same.

“Um sir,” while lost in thought, Yuto never noticed Janet coming back into the room. “It’s your partner sir. He’s been admitted to hospital.”

Yuto jumped to his feet, knocking the coffee from his desk and the chair to the floor. It was time? He rushed, grabbing the bare necessities and running out the door.

Yuya was surprising calm while he sat in labour. The contraction coming around every 5 to 1- minutes, meaning any moment down he would be prepped to meet his baby. Yuto on the other hand seemed a nervous wreck. He was constantly asking if Yuya needed anything else, if he was comfortable and pacing the room constantly. “Please relax,” Yuya laughed, cringing as another contraction hit making Yuto run back to the bed. “We need to stay calm. Stress is no good for the baby.”

“I just want you to be okay,” Yuto laughed nervously. “But I'm so excited that I can't stay still.”

“I’m excited too but we have to be calm,” Yuya instructed. Yuto nodded, leaning up and kissing his husband’s forehead. The peaceful moment was interrupted however as a doctor followed by several nurses came in. Yuto had to take a couple of deep breathes, knowing it was time. “Ready daddy?” Yuya joked earning a laugh from his husband.

A few hours had passed since Emi received the call about Yuya. Now she and Crow we strolling through the corridor, balloons and presents in hand ready to meet their niece or nephew. “Isn’t it exciting?” Emi #squealed. “My baby brother has finally given birth.”

“You seem awfully excited,” Crow laughed at his wife while juggling the presents.

“It’s a big deal for us,” Emi advised. “It means Yuya has in a way left our family and started his own. What people call a milestone I guess.”

It didn’t take long before they reached the room and couldn’t hold in the excitement upon seeing Yuto sat up against the bed, an arm Yuya and Yuya holding a small pink bundle. The newlyweds let out an ‘aw’ as they walked over to the new parents. Crow looked into Yuya’s arms, practically cooing over the cute bundle. “So, what’s the little one’s name?” Emi asked.

Both with a large grin on their faces, Yuya and Yuto looked at Emi and Crow before looking back at their child. “Her name’s Umi,” Yuto declared proudly.

“How fitting,” Emi said with a small weep. “She’s beautiful.”

“And she’s ours,” Yuya said as he started to cry.

Instinctively Yuto pulled Yuya closer to his body, as if to protect him from the tears he shed. This moment was all worth waiting for. The hardships and learning about himself all led to him having this perfect moment. It just went to show him, you never know what life would have in store but as long as you had someone to ride the waves of life with, everything would work out.

And that’s all she wrote!
Literally feel like crying now this has ended.
Thank you all for sharing this journey with me. I can honestly say this has been one of my most favourite projects to work on and I hope you’ve all enjoyed every moment of it.
I’m working on a new chapter for the Pawnshipping addition of this however I've not long had surgery to help with an ongoing issue so it is taking time to come out and I apologise for that.

Hope to see you all on the next adventure.
