Undercover

(Above is the Kazekage mission, I didn't feel like writing it but it should still be included. The video will be used for the music for this chapter.)

-Third Person's pov. -

After returning from a successful rescue of the Kazekage, team 7 stands before the Tsunade for another mission.

"Come on Tsunade-bāchan!" Naruto wines, "We just got back from a mission! Give us a break!"

Tsunade gives Naruto a dead stare which shuts him up. Satisfied, Tsunade moves on to the mission assignment.

"You will be going on an undercover op. You'll infiltrate a village thats been taken control by a group of bandits that have ties with the Akatsuki. From there, you'll gain as much information as you can before eliminating the bandits, freeing the town in the process."

BriefingTeam 7 nods, fully understanding the mission before realizing Kakashi wasn't present.

"What about Kakashi-Sensei?"  Naruto asks slightly confused as to why he wasn't present in the briefing, "Isn't he coming?"

Tsunade shook her head before motioning towards Yuki, "No, he is still recovering in the hospital from your previous mission. In his place Yuki will lead the mission as she is a Jounin."

Sasuke and Naruto both look at Yuki in varying degrees of shock before Yuki sent them a look that she'd tell them later, causing them to snap their focus back to Tsunade. Tsunade herself just shakes her head at the team before giving the scroll that had more information on the mission to Yuki before dismissing them.

"So when were you going to tell us you made Jounin?" Sasuke asks as they jump through the treetops towards their destination.

They were headed to a village on the outskirts of the land of fire, close to the land of whirlpools. The village, as Tsunade said, had been overrun by bandits as the villagers were in the middle of rebuilding after the main clan that used to reside there was extinguished. Even if it had ben several years since then, the village was in a constant state of war as group after group wanted the land so they could access the ruins of the grate clan that lived there. So far, none had succeeded.

"When we had a proper conversation and you wouldn't run off after saying your piece." Yuki says before directing a question towards Naruto, "You wouldn't happen to know what clan was in control of whirlpool before all the war and stuff happened there, would you?"

Naruto nods with a grim look, "Jiraiya told me. It was the Uzumaki. My mother was one of the few who escaped the slaughter."

The group fell into silence after that, non knowing what to say after that.

"Where here"

The group stops at the edge of the forest before looking out at the village. They could tell it had once been beautiful as the ruins of structors laid about of the ground, the large columns wreckage and detailed stone work made sure to tell them.

Looking beyond the wreckage, they could see a make shift wall made of bone surrounding the village while large bonfires stood on either side of the gate while guards stood at the top armed with bows; a perfect vantage point to keep the unwanted away.

"What kind of bandits did the mission say they were?" Naruto asked while turning slightly green at the sight of skulls being used in the wall.

"It didn't" Sasuke replies while grimacing.
