When We Were Younger [Filler]

- Third Person's pov. -

"Today's the day!" A small voice fills the house followed by tiny footsteps as they rush towards a bedroom.

A small child runs into the room before hopping onto the bed and jumping up and down, waking the two people sleeping in it.

"UP UP UP. Come on! Today's the day!" The child shouts while jumping on her parents bed.

Groans are the only response she receives causing her to pout before flopping onto her mother who lets out a huff as she lands on her stomach.

"Come on... You said you'd teach me to fly today" The girl pouts while crossing her arms and looking down at her mother who wearily rubs the sleep out of his eyes.

Sleepily, she glances at the clock to see it was 9am before yawing. "Alright alright, I'm up. Just don't wake your father. He was up late again." The girl's mother says before getting out of bed.

The girl cheers before hopping off the bed and running out of the room shouting over her shoulder, "I'll be in the kitchen!"

The mother sighs while laying in the bed debating whether or not to go back to sleep. Sighing while sitting up, she decides to get up as she knows her daughter will come back in if she doesn't go down soon.

"Ok Yuki, you remember what I told you to do?" The mother asks while looking down at her daughter.

"Uh huh!" Yuki says while nodding rapidly, "I've got to flap my wings really hard and think of flying! And when I do I'll fly!"

Her mother chuckles lightly while looking at her daughter fondly, "Something along those lines, yes. Now why don't you try?"

Yuki nods before summoning her wings. Then came the hard part. Squeezing her eyes shut and scrunching her face up really tight, she begins to flap her wings as fast as she can. Not so long after do her feet begin to lift off the ground.

Not feeling the ground beneath her feet, Yuki opens her eyes and looks down only to stop it a foot below her. Letting out a happy shriek followed by a set of giggles, Yuki begins to slow down on her flapping before she touches back to the ground.

Looking up at her mother excitedly, she runs up to her while waving her arms, "Did you see? Did you see? I did it!"

Her mother smiles and nods, "I did see, and you did do it! But you''ll have to practice if you want to stay in the air longer." Her mother points out.

Yuki nods before raising one of her tiny fists into the air, "Then I'll practice lots and before the best flyer in the clan!"

"That's the spirit!" Her mother laughs while watching Yuki run off to try again.

// When Yuki was 7//

"Come on Shikamaru!" A young girl shouts while running into a creek, "The waters' really warm!"

"Do I have to Yuki?" Shikamaru sighs while watching the girl as she lifted her dress up slightly so the edges wouldn't get wet from her splashing.

[That's Yuki, just without the bow & arrows and with Black hair and blue eyes]

"Yes, now come on! Stop being so lazy!" Yuki says while gabbing his hands and pulling him into the creek with her.

Shikamaru gasps in surprise as he's pulled into the water but says nothing on it except sigh and accept the fact that his shoes were going to get wet. Unlike her, he had yet to take off his shoes.

Yuki grinned up at him as he was slightly taller than her before lightly splashing him. A shocked expression crossed over his face briefly causing Yuki to giggle before a devilish grin crosses his face as he run up to her and tackles her into the water, effectively soaking the two of them.

Yuki and Shikamaru's laughs echoed throughout the forest, easily being heard by the near by deer as they played in the creek of the Nara Forest.

They played in the creek until sunset, skipping rocks and splashing each other. They would've played longer as well if Shikaku hadn't found them while feeding the deer and bringing them back to the house where Mrs. Nara got the two cleaned up before Shikamaru and Shikaku walked Yuki back to her house.

"Bye Shika!" Yuki shouts from her stop next to her older brother Kaze in the open doorway while waving down to the boy and his father.

"It's Shikamaru!" The boy shouts back.

"Nah! I'm going to call you Shika from now on!" Yuki yelled back only to receive grumbles in reply while Shikaku lightly chuckled at the boy as his cheeks heated up in embarrassment.

//When Yuki was 9//

"Kibo! You're back from your mission!" Yuki shouts while running up to her brother who had just landed at the compound gates.

"Yea I did. How have you been while I was gone? Did you cause any trouble for the others?" Kibo asked while picking Yuki up and putting her onto his shoulders after putting his wings away.

"You've only been gone for two days. I couldn't have caused that much chaos." Yuki says while grinning down at her brother.

When he raises an eyebrow at her she gives in while nervously laughing.

"I um, may have dyed Kaze's underwear pink."

Kibo just laughs at her until he's cut off by an angry yell that echoes throughout the compound.

"YUKI!!!"

"Looks like he found out." Yuki says with a blank look on her face before hopping off Kibo's shoulders, "Whelp, I'm off." She then turned to look at her brother, "You never saw me today."

"I never saw you." Kibo agreed with an amused smile on his face.

Yuki nods in all seriousness before spreading her wings and booking it out of the compound. Kibo's laughter following her on the wind as she flies out of the compound and away from an angry brother who had no more white underwear.
