Separate

- Third person's pov.-

It had been two days since everything happened and it was the first time Naruto and Sasuke were allowed to visit Yuki. Walking in, the steady sound of the heart monitor beeps in time with her heart reaches their ears. Looking around the room, they saw flowers here and there but what caught their eyes was Yuki's wings as they were out and had bandages and splints covering them.

They sat down next to her head and it wasn't long before she woke up. Upon seeing them, she smiles brightly and sits up with a bit of difficulty only to be pushed back down once the boys noticed her wings moving and the pain that flashed over her face.

"Just stay down, you don't need to sit up for us." Sasuke says while glancing over at her wings, worried about their condition.

Following his gaze Yuki smiles sadly, "Don't worry about it. It was necessary to get you back in one piece."

Sasuke frowns but leaves the topic alone, the guilt was to heavy for him to voice it. 

'I caused that...' his consciousness says in the back of his head, 'She's hurt because of me...'

Noticing how quiet he had gotten, Naruto starts up a conversation to get everyone's minds off of how badly injured Yuki was. This worked for a time and before they knew it, it was time for them to leave. Standing up both boys bid her farewell before they left the room.

Two weeks later, they were still visiting her when word came that her wings may never be able to withstand the strain of flight again. Yuki was so broken up about it but she hid her pain as her teammates were in the room and looked as if the floor had been pulled out from underneath them.

The news couldn't have come at a worse time as this was the last visit both boys would be able to make as Naruto was to leave within the hour for his three year training trip with Jiraiya; while Sasuke was to begin his training under Kakashi to get ready to join the Hunter Nin.

"Hey guys," Yuki says while resting a hand on each of their shoulders, her voice thick as she tries to hold back her own cries of anguish, "It's not the end of the world."

"But!—" Naruto begins only to be cut off by Yuki as she shook her head.

"I'm alive and thats all that matters."

"No." Sasuke says as he stood up, his eyes covered in the shadow of his hair, "This wouldn't have happened if you just stayed out of it."

"Excuse me?" Yuki asks while looking a little offended. "I risked my life to save you! Naruto risked his life! Hell, even the others risked their lives to get you back! And all you have to say is that we should've stayed out of it?!" Yuki rages, her wings attempt to flap as they normally do when she's angry but the pain that shot through her body was enough to paralyze her.

"That's right, you shouldn't have gotten involved. Just look at you!" Sasuke says while motioning to her form, paralyzed in pain, "If you hadn't gone after me this wouldn't have happened to you!"

"Hey!" Naruto shouts getting in between the two of them, "If we didn't go after your sorry ass then you wouldn't be here right now." He says in anger while pushing him back from Yuki as she got over the paralyzation, "Face it! You'd be dead right now if none of us came to save you."
