Just let me in

Chapter 9

Cassidy's P.O.V

"C'mon let's get you dried up." I pulled him inside and out of the rain. I cannot believe that he had remembered! My favourite flowers from my favourite part of the park. He was so sweet. He didn't deserve to have a fuck up like me in his life. He was too good a person. I didn't deserve him. I sighed, and walked into the kitchen. Kellin didn't follow me, instead he just stood awkwardly near the front door. I poked my head around the corner of the doorway to the kitchen. "Coming, Kel?"

"Uh, yeah." He said awkwardly. I laughed at his awkwardness. He came in behind me and sat up on the counter, swinging his legs like a five year old.

"Do you want some hot chocolate?"

"Hot chocolate would be amazing right now!" I smirked at him and he gave me a cheeky smile. I started making the hot chocolate. Kellin jumped off the counter and wrapped his arms around my waist while I waited for the water to boil. "Hey, Cass? Please don't try and block me out. I need you in my life. I don't care what it takes. I'll give you as much time and space as you need, ok? I'm here for you. Whatever you need. I want you to know that I care. I want you to know that I lost you once, and I do not want to lose you again."

"Oh, Kel -"

"You don't deserve any of the crap that people give you, and I don't understand how it took me so long to realise. I am going to make up for lost time, though. If anyone tries to do anything to you, you tell me, ok? I know you need time, and I'm not going to push you. You don't need to tell me anything if you don't want to. I know you need to get to know me again before we can go back to normal, and I'm prepared to do anything to have my best friend back." I felt tears brimming so I but down on my lip to try and stop them.

"Kellin! I missed you so much!" I threw my hands around his neck and pulled him to me. He lifted me up slightly so that I was at his height, and we were eye level.

"I'm not letting you go again, ok?"

"Ok." The tears silently rolled down my cheeks. Kellin gave me a confused look, and I laughed. He shook his head and hugged me again. I finished making the hot chocolate while Kellin changed into dry clothes.

"Hey, cass. Is it ok if I stay here this weekend?"

"Yeah. I was uh kinda hoping you would." His face lit up.

"Great! You hungry? my mum made me bring some food that she made."

"Starving. I haven't eaten anything today, yet. What did she make?"

"Uh chicken and veggies with some kinda sauce." He pulled out a big box of food. I hadn't eaten a proper hot meal in a while. I guess I had been too depressed to properly cook. My stomach growled a little bit too loud, and Kellin started laughing, hard, which made me blush like crazy. I took the box off him and put the food on two plates and put them in the microwave.

"I'm just gonna go upstairs and change into my pjs" I ran up the stairs, but Kellin followed me. "Kel, why?"

"Can I... uh, can I have your blade? I can't bear the fact that your hurting yourself."

"B...but... I-"

"All of them. Please, cass?"

"Ok. Will you throw them away?"

"Of course I will!"

"I don't want you to hurt yourself."

"Cass! Your so amazing. Can you like for one second just think about yourself and not other people?" He jokes smiling.

"Let me just change, and then I'll get them." I shut the door on him and went to get the small black box on my bookshelf. I quickly got changed, but before I opened the door quickly took one of the blades and put it in my drawer, just in case. I knew I should have just given them all to him, but I couldn't. I gave him the box and he put it in his bag when we went downstairs.

We picked up our plates and settle down on the sofa. Kellin put in the hunger games and we finished eating and he wrapped an arm around me. I let my head rest on his shoulder. I paused the movie to go and get a blanket, and when I returned Kellin looked deep in thought.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

"Hmmm? Oh, nothing. I was just thinking, that's all."

"Ok. What about then? Is something bothering you?"

"No, no,no. Nothing's bothering me. I was just wondering.... What if you stayed with me?"

"W...what?"

"You know, come and stay with me and my family for a couple of weeks?"

"Uh, well... I uh..."

"You uh you don't have to. I don't wanna uh like pressure you into it or anything...."

"No, no. I'd love to come and stay with you and your family. You just caught me by surprise, that's all. Are you sure, though?"

"I'm pretty sure my mum's gonna say yes. And we need to catch up on lost time. We can sort out the details tomorrow. Now c'mere." he made grabby hands at me. I shook my head and laughed at him, but sat down next to him and leant my head on his chest, and he wrapped an arm around me. I soon fell asleep, and at the moment there was no where else I would rather be, than with him. I was so glad I had him back.
