Gannicus and I had finally left Oenomaus and began to head down the halls to seek out Spartacus and my brother whom in Gannicus' mind were in charge of this entire 'mess' as he was so keen to call it. "We can still leave to build a better life, the Romans are so fixated on finding this man Spartacus we would easily slip through the cracks." He told me softly.
"And yet you know I will not leave my brother to die, which he surely would without my sword and mind keeping him from such fate."
"The man is a German fighter, should he not be able on his own to remain of this world without his sisters life hanging in the balance?" He questioned me. "You are but a-" I arched my brow.
"A what? A girl?" I laughed softly, "Gannicus, my love. Much has changed since we last laid eyes on one another. I am not that girl anymore, I have said this already. I will not leave my brothers side."
"I know, words slip lips absent proper thought." He sighed, "This will... take getting used too." He told me.
"What will, being with me once again?" I asked as he shook his head, "No, never. Just knowing that I will not be the one thing keeping you safe, that you are capable of such on your own."
"Just because I wield knives and a sword does not mean that your support and comfort are not yet still needed. I will always welcome it from you." I told him as we came across the four of them standing ahead of us, fire lighting up the space around them.
"Apologies." Gannicus spoke as he crossed his arms over his chest as I looked over to a scowling older brother. "We had not intended to halt conversation."
I watched as Spartacus passed a map over to Mira her attempting to motion me over to them, yet has any of them been in the position I was in for the past few years they too would not leave the side of their heart. A thing Naevia and Crixus were likely the only ones who would ever understand such a feeling. "Unless I can drink that, it holds no worth to me. Jana maybe seeing as I thought she was apart of your little group. I seek only wine and the comfort of my woman."
"What were you all planning? Another attack on the Romans in Capua?" I asked as Agron shook his head, "Something even better, that I am hoping you will join Donar and I on seeing to completion."
I nodded, "Is that even a question?" I questioned my brother as he grinned, "What is it we are setting out to do?" I asked him as he looked to Spartacus who clearly had told them all to keep Gannicus in the dark of any on goings, his trust clearly only with me and far from the hearts of any others.
"Right." I sighed,
"We have no wine and I fear your desire to see Jana leave our company will be short lived." Spartacus told him.
"I am well aware she would not leave the sight of side of her brother. A thing she was more than instant on telling me." Gannicus told him as I could just feel the tension between the three men grow with each passing moment.
Gannicus with not so much of another word seemed to turn heel and return the path of which we had just come from. I looked over at Spartacus, Mira and my brother, Agron at least having the decency to look away from me seeing as he likely knew I was about to erupt much like dormant Vesuvius could any year now.
