It had been a few days since Spartacus regained his strength enough to attempt the arena again. Today was to mark his first fight back and it was to be the Primus and execution of Solonius. I walked with Dominus below so he could speak to the man before he was to be executed however he had told me I could not enter with him. I instead walked to find where Spartacus would be waiting for his fight.

He looked over at me and smirked, I made my way up to him and helped him getting everything tightened. "Did you think about it?" I questioned him, the last time Mira had gone to him she broached the subject of escape with him again. Spartacus looked past me to see if anyone could hear us, I supposed.

"You were right about the wound on the man, Batiatus is responsible for Sura and Varro's deaths; and from what Mira and you have told me, far to many others." He explained.

"This needs to be done slowly, cautiously and without a hitch. I will never break though to Crixus, neither of our people have ever cared for each other." He told me as I shook my head, "A stupid sentiment when the goal is freedom. He should desire such things, if it could mean being with Naevia as man and wife rather then sneaking about the house like mice." I told him as he sighed nodded, "I agree..."

"I can promise you this, Jana... they will all die. Every single Roman that gets in the way of our freedom will meet the end of a sword." I smiled at him, "Then we are of the same mind... If Oenomaus will not avenge Melitta or Barca I will." I told him as Spartacus smirked. "I have no doubt that you will. Dominus is here, you should go." He told me as I nodded making my way back towards Dominus.

"Is he ready for the match?" Dominus asked me, "Yes, Dominus. He is eager to begin his journey of revenge." I smiled at him as Dominus grinned, "Perfect, let us go get a front row seat." He told me as I took one last look at Spartacus before we headed up towards the stairs to take place in the pulvanius.

"Crixus honors the memory of your husband." Domina spoke as we entered the area I took my place next to Naevia as Dominus spoke to those around us. "We should put these dark times behind us..." He told them as Naevia looked at me from the corner of her eyes. "And with Solonius' blood...amend our grief."

Dominus walked around taking his place in front of the crowd ready to announce the games. "Good citizens of Capua!" He called out to them his voice roaring over their chanting. "I stand before you, the sting of tears yet hot upon my cheek, to redress a most vile crime against our city and our hearts. The murder of Magistrate Titus Calavius!" He called to the people as Naevia nudged me.

"He will not let me broach the subject with him." She told me, speaking of her trying to gain Crixus and the Gauls towards the idea of escape with the rest of us. Spartacus having already convinced many of the men below to the task. Though the ranks were mainly filled with Crixus and his Gauls, without them we would not get further than our instant deaths.

"Perhaps attempt again tonight, appeal to his heart." I offered her as she nodded.

"His life stolen for lust of profit and advancement." Dominus called out stealing my attention from Naevia. He was speaking of himself now, not Solonius. He lusted for profit and power, Solonius simply wanted to remain relevant and killing the Magistrate would not do so...
